Bonitta Hair Salon — Attraction in New York

This is gonna be a long one but it’s worth it if you read it about my experience at this salon:

I got I-Tip hair extensions in PA for New Year’s and also because I wanted a change. For years I have been wanting hair extensions because my hair was thinning and it wasn’t growing as long as I’d hope. When I initially got the hair extensions (again, the salon in PA), the stylist was kind but always did them in a rush, causing for many hairs to tangle with the beads she was re-tightening. It was frustrating & caused me to be discouraged. I spent a lot of money on them (a little over $1,200) for the ITips.

Cut to Bonitta Hair Salon, where I received the best service and attention that I have ever gotten in a salon. I scheduled an appointment immediately as soon as I found her salon on Google. I knew that if anything was going to be done, it was going to take a while. I filled out a small form she sent me and asked me what I was looking for. I briefly explained my situation and went the next day to see her.

It’s a quiet, tidy salon and very accessible through public transportation (which I needed because I don’t drive). Yolanda greeted me with a warm smile and I introduced myself politely. I showed her the mess of tangles that my hair was left in and she asked me all the necessary questions one would ask about hair extensions. I told her what the previous stylist told me and she was kind enough to tell me what is correct and incorrect.

I sighed and asked her if there’s any way she can help me. She gave me options but suggested braidless extensions since it won’t get tangled and it is easier to maintain. We also decided on a different hair color to match the hair as best as possible. Yolanda was patient and very kind to me which I greatly appreciated (I suffer from anxiety).

When I say she knows what she’s doing and does the job amazingly, it’s an understatement to what she is capable of doing. She told me to message her to see what shampoo and conditioner I use to suggest an alternative (if necessary) to care for my extensions better.

If you are thinking about getting hair extensions, remember that it is long term and must be maintained regularly.

First thing first... Yoland saved my hair! I came to her through my mother-in-law last year and she made my hair look and feel amazing! Ended up losing her number and for a year I dealt with bad hair loss after having a baby. Long story short I went to a hair salon near me and they messed my hair up bad! It wouldn't grow at all and fell out even more than what it was already! I couldn't take not seeing Yolanda anymore so I went searching for her number yesterday here on google, I found it and called immediately! Came in today (the next day) and she treated my hair for the hair loss and cut it to help the hair grow. Yet again Yolanda has made my hair feel and look AMAZING! Gave me tips on how to keep my hair growing strong and healthy! Even had products I could use in shop to buy and use at home to help with my hair loss! The service my mother-in-law and I receive when we go to Bonitta Hair is wonderful, very inviting. As if we are family! The convos are lovely and the advice she gives are always on point!
