There is so much to love about Brooklyn Grange @ Sunset Park. It was important to me to choose a wedding venue that was already beautiful, so we didn't have to spend time and money on beautifying an empty space. It was also really important to me to choose a venue with a solid rain-alternative. BG@SP ticked both of those boxes -- it's stunning without any embellishment, meaning we only had to add decor that we truly loved and was meaningful to us. And it was indeed raining, windy, and cold on our wedding day, so being able to move the ceremony inside without any drama was such a relief. After 5 minutes of mourning the outdoor ceremony we'd hoped for, it became clear that an indoor ceremony was the absolute best option - not only because it was raining - but because the reception space overlooks a spectacular view and was so warm and cozy. Claire, Alex, and the whole BG team were great to work with - excellent communicators throughout the 12+ month planning process.
I also love that Brooklyn Grange has a mission far beyond being an events space. We felt really proud to bring our family and friends to such a unique and important Brooklyn institution committed to serving and improving the city we love...
Read moreI went for Stoop Sundays 3 course meal for $103 (with fees). This was quite far. The LIC location should also have chef meals. The worst part is they don't publish the menus (meat or veg) until a week before the event, which would sell out if you waited. For a dinner costing 100-175 you should know what you will eat first or offer refunds! You can change from meat to veg up to a week before which is helpful but should be listed in FAQ. My meal I would not have bought for $10! And certainly would not have traveled over an hour or taken off of work to attend! It was a very salty porchetta, black eyed peas and a mild sweet potato sauce the color of whiz cheese. Salad was just cut up tomatoes and a dressing. Dessert was a very disappointing vegan pudding. 3 drink tickets are helpful but 2 where quite sour and the other was unsweetened. As someone who deals with acid reflux this was not ideal even if the food had tasted good. Wouldn't...
