Taylor & Co. Books is a gem.
This family-run bookshop may be just 300 square feet, but what it lacks in size it overwhelmingly makes up for in heart. Packed with new and used titles, children's books, comics, and curios, every inch of the space feels intentional and inviting.
More than just a bookstore, Taylor & Co. is a hub for community—hosting events, readings, and supporting other local businesses with genuine enthusiasm. Its owner, Andrew, and the team pour so much love into what they do, and it shows.
We’re incredibly lucky to have them in our neighborhood. It's small businesses like this—and people like Andrew—that make communities stronger, more connected, and more vibrant.
If you want a book and it’s not on the shelf, Andrew will gladly order it just for you. And if you walk in without the faintest idea of what you're looking for, he’s brilliant at asking just the right questions and guiding you to something unexpected and special.
Do you remember what that used to feel like—before Amazon? That personal touch, that sense of being seen and understood? That’s exactly what Taylor & Co....

The small shop makes good use of its space with a curated selection of modern fiction, radical literature, poetry, classics, and works by local authors. There's also a surprisingly thorough children's book section with its own little seating area.

There's limited space for weekly releases, but the shop will order any series you request (which also signals to publishers that there's interest in the book!)
The store even has a small selection of free books, inside and in the newspaper box outside. And most days, you can get an empanada at the stand in front...

The owner is kind, patient, and all the people who work there are local and it’s staffed by majority POC. The programming is what I call truly diverse: people of such a wide range of backgrounds, reading circles on weekends for the littles, a bird watching group on Sunday mornings, multiple book launches and reading series; celebrating different languages, a huge collection of BIPOC authors, and hey, if it’s not there, they’ll order it. Have been buying my dad books from here for a couple years and this is where we spent Father’s Day. My dad was so excited that they ordered him a book on Puerto Rican activist Pedro Albizu Campos he had to meet the owner. It’s a safe haven, a beating heart on the corner of a Brooklyn block....
