I ordered just about $100 worth of pastries yesterday and let me tell you. They are almost done lol. I came across this bakery on ubereats as I was craving some good pastries and this place did not disappoint. The beignets and eclaires were loaded with filling!! With each bite you tasted the flavors. This is a problem alot of bakeries have. They skimp on the filling and all you get is dough. Bonjour Bakery does not lack in the department AT ALL!. I just ate an almond croissant and my God it's the best I have ever had. I used to buy almond croissants from Pret and not only were they small, but the almond paste was overkill and way too sweet. These almond croissants were a good size, with the right amount of filling and it wasn't too sweet at all. I got a bigger size croissant for the same price I used to pay at Pret for a much smaller one. The pineapple upside down cake is great to. I just took a piece (greedy Sunday lol). I made the mistake of refrigerating it so it got a bit dry, but it's still good. I have 2 fruit tarts in the fridge waiting to be eaten and the bread pudding was delicious. Ate that yesterday while watching Elimination Chamber lol. Also had a large hot chocolate with almond milk that wasn't so good, but a horrible hot chocolate does not mean 5 stars isn't deserved. This place deserves 10 stars for their pastries.
When I saw Bonjour Brooklyn Bakery was a black owned business I needed to support. I am so proud of you guys for stepping out of the box and opening something different. Not the usual soul food and Caribbean food spots. Don't get me wrong, I love them lol, but there are way too many and as black people we have different tastes. Its nice to fine pastries accessible to us. Thank you so much for blessing us with your business and talents in pastries. I will have to stop in one day and pay the place...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve tried this place several times now, itās a fantastic French bakery that seems to fly under the radar at times.
Iāve had the plain croissant, pistachio eclair, chocolate and almond croissant, almond croissant, beignets, and spinach and cheese croissant so far - all fresh and delicious.
Other than the beignets (which I believe are fried in some sort of vegetable oil), they only use butter, no seed oils. I would like to see them consider going completely seed oil free, as there are healthier deep frying oils, such as tallow or refined coconut oil, for example.
If they are open to expanding their product line, I think there is a void of great donuts in the area, especially cake donuts!
They also have started putting out mystery bags of leftover pastries at a very reasonable price, once, or twice a day (see the picture with the plate of six pastries as an example).
Arianna is a wonderful employee and team member. She has been friendly and very helpful the last couple of times I have visited.
Looking forward to trying their quiche, cheesecake, and Paris Brest, among...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've walked by this place on my way to the train for some time now. The other day they had a DJ playing a chill Sunday morning kind of vibes that were being projected out into the Kosciusko stop area, out into the street - advertising some free mini tart samples.
While I thought the music would wake me up the most, what really did it for me was the kind staff and a display case full of too many amazing options to pick from. I defaulted to what I'd normally grab at the corner store - an Almond Croissant. (normally in one of the already-packaged Oven Delight ones.) This croissant flipped my whole morning from the long night the night before all the way around!
Since then, (only a week later) I've already gone back in to kick my morning off three times with Bonjour Brooklyn, and even my partner claimed after the first bite that you can tell that a lotta love went into making these.
As the DJ on the mic said on my first trip inviting folks in: "Support your local Black Woman-owned Business" and you won't go wrong no matter...
