B&K Fish Mini Market — Restaurant in New York

It's hard to keep a totally clean fish market, but this is decently run by a Chinese family. The local population of blacks and imported whites regularly buy from here. So the quality is quite decent, especially since they are only a few doors down from a supermarket. Their fried and steamed fish to-go sell at decent prices. Don't forget the tartar sauce on the jumbo shrimp. The fish in the market for sale itself looks and smells fresh, but the crab bucket could show a little activity. I didn't notice any cloudy eyes on the fish. They also sell frozen raw and cooked seafood. I was tempted to get some massive octopus to sear at home in olive oil, garlic, and lemon.

They even sell classic McCormick seasonings for frying fish, just in case your supermarket didn't have it.

Surprised and delighted by the incredible value of this mom and pop shop. It’s a small fish market that also does grab and go freshly cooked seafood + sides. You order at the kitchen counter.

We got a family order with a side of steamed veggies and large fries for less than $30 for two people!! We waited ~10-15 minutes for our food to be cooked.

The portion size was very generous, we have leftovers. The fried seafood was delicious, whiting and shrimp were our favorites. AND they offer an array of seasonings (Cajun, garlic powder, salt, etc) and condiments (ketchup, tartar, butter, hot sauce, etc) for you to add to your food after it’s cooked if you want it.

Slow and horrible service. The lady steamed my fish when I noticed the fish was under cooked I informed her that it was unsafe after I waited patiently almost 45min for my order because it was busy, and that's understandable. She blatantly said to me next time cook your fish at your own house! I was in shock! I felt this response was unprovoked after I waited patiently for so long to get uncooked fish.
