Eleanor's Pier on Roosevelt Island is a relatively lesser-known gem compared to the island's more frequented landmarks. This tranquil spot offers visitors a place to pause and take in the surroundings, presenting an intimate view of the waterway that separates Roosevelt Island from the bustling cityscape of Manhattan. Named in honor of Eleanor Roosevelt, the pier stands as a tribute to her legacy of human rights and social justice, values that resonate deeply within the ethos of New York City. It's a place where the river's gentle rhythms can be felt most acutely, where the ripples tell tales of the city’s storied past and its ceaseless march towards the future. The pier serves not only as a point of embarkation and disembarkation for small watercraft but also as a vantage point for introspection and appreciation of the city's impressive skyline. It's where joggers slow their pace, photographers capture the moment, and visitors find a momentary respite from the whirlwind of their travels. At Eleanor's Pier, the city finds its breath, the waters whisper of history and progress, and the legacy of its namesake is felt in the quiet strength of the island's community and the contemplative peace that the pier affords to all who venture there.

Great place to relax, enjoy the scenery, and take pictures. There are also a few eating places nearby like Starbucks, Fuji East Japanese Bistro, Granny Annie's, and a hot dog/halal cart which makes it a pretty good spot. It's also really close to the F train so not a lot of walking is necessary if you're taking public transportation.

Open 24/7, an amazing spot to chill out by the river and look at the Manhattan skyline. There are tables by the rail and it's a very nice and quiet place to have a date at night. This place is a like a well kept secret.
