Andrew Haswell Green Dog Park — Attraction in New York

Beautiful place to jog or walk that's a bit away from the hustle and bustle of the city. There are gorgeous views of Roosevelt island. It is fun watching the boats go by on the East River.

There seems to always be people walking or running or simply enjoying the scenery on the benches.

It's great that there are dedicated bike paths as well as running and walking paths. Not everyone sticks to the designated paths, but the space/walkway is big enough that I have never seen an issue.

The people and dogs at this park are great. They have a side for small dogs and a side for large dogs. There is one (frequently attending) pitbull named Johnny who multiple people/dogs have had problems with but in general he's pretty nice. The park is taken care of by locals and they do a really good job of upkeep - cleaning and redoing the soil. There are tubs to fill with water in the summer and a wash off hose! Lots of...

The park is fine but it’s impossible to ever get to use it because whoever maintains the access ramp and sidewalks dumps so much rock salt down all winter long (even when it’s dry and warm) that it’s impossible to get your dog through, even with boots.
