I read all of the reviews and I still decided to go to Tony Greco's class. What was I thinking? This class is a total cult. Everyone hangs on his every word no matter how boring and stupid it is. No one pays any attention to the new people. I guess we have to become part of the Tony Greco cult first. There's never any chance to do a full scene for him because there's too many people or he talks and talks so much that only one scene can go up in a three hour session. Or maybe he will only let one actor say a few lines and then he will stop the scene. Yassss, he's also a jerk who yells and insults the majority of the class. From what people tell me, he doesn't do anything more than beginning work ever. There's never a chance to grow beyond his little bitty first steps....
Read moreThis is about the theater itself. The disorganization is unbearable. It’s nice to be a small bohemian theater, it’s insulting to act like you’re 15 hosting a keg party. The chairs were everywhere. I had to sit sideways because the person in front of me decided to move her chair back so she could have more leg room than she needed. No one from the theater would address this problem. They just opened up more chairs Willy Nilly (creating a fire hazard in truth). Simple solution? PAINT LINES IN THE FLOOR SO PEOPLE KNOW WHERE THE ROWS ARE!! It’s so simple it’s frightening. Respect the people who support you by creating an organized and safe environment. Read moreWe recently had our wedding there and it was astounding. The photos are in and proved to us it was such a magical place to be in. A black box theater true to form, and supportive of many talented and local artists, so we're proud to add our wedding to its roster.
They were very hospitable and encouraging and it was a blast working with this wild artsy crew. The arts is still alive in Manhattan!
It's great to see this kind of place still exist in NoHo! I hope it continues to thrive with many more brilliant performances to come.
