If you do not want to read the entire review, OK. Here is all you need to know: Dr. Shoshany is AWESOME!
For those who would like a little more, here you go:
I have had problems with my back for several years. My restless nights are usually filled with a lot of tossing and turning, resulting in very few hours of sleep. I'm usually exhausted and grumpy throughout the day. I've tried various treatments and methods to relieve the pain, none of them worked to great success. After getting an MRI, the initial consultation from my general physician did not sound too good. I was at the end of my rope, and feared surgery would be the only thing that may help me relieve this nagging problem.
I was referred to Dr. Shoshany by my cousin, who was treated by him previously. She raved about spinal decompression, something I never heard of before. I didn't know what to expect and I wasn't too confident in the potential results.
Here are my thoughts about the Doctor. and his staff.
The staff are friendly and welcoming. The process of registering as a new patient was smooth and easy to complete. The assisting medical professionals that help when needed are all friendly and supportive. You can feel they sincerely want you to get better, and they care about how you are doing each visit. From the front desk to the behind the scenes support staff, the are all wonderful and dedicated professionals. This is important to me because I believe it creates a welcoming and comfortable environment for patients, especially me.
My initial consultation with Dr. Shoshany was quite educational as he thoroughly took me through each part of my MRI report, explaining what everything meant in language I could understand. I remember how comforting it felt when he looked me in the eyes and stated with the utmost confidence that he will help me get better with noninvasive treatments.
Dr. Shosany didn't rush our consultation. He even spent time asking me about what was important to me, and how a healthy back would impact my life. I could feel his confidence as I visualized holding and playing with my Daughters once again, without the pain that had diminished my enjoyment with them for so long. He explained a plan of action to get healthy, and it all made sense to me. Finally!
It has only been a few weeks but there is a noticeable difference in how I feel, and how I have been sleeping. The combination of regular adjustments, the decompression machine, and some at-home exercises as well as minimal stretching have put me on the road to recovery. There are more treatments to come, but I am excited about my recent progress and what the end results will be. There is a plan, and the desired end result looks well within reach for the first time.
If you're looking for an experienced Doctor who can provide the correct treatment, while also providing care in a friendly, family office type of atmosphere, this is the place.
I used to dread going for previous treatments. My expectations were never met, and perhaps this made me dread the experience.
In comparison, I commute over an hour each way, twice a week, to see Dr. Shoshany. Never complaining about the traffic, and looking forward to my visit. When you find exceptional people who care about your well-being, the experience improves...
Read moreDr. Steven Shoshany and his team tremendously helped me to go through the pain that I had in my lower spine as a result of a bulging disc on the L4-L5. I was in a great pain that sitting and walking for too long really hurt. My previous doctor initially recommended me to go to see a physical therapist, however, after two months I did physical therapy, I didn't feel any improvement. Then, I spoke to someone who previously had the same issue as me and recommended me to try spinal decompression. So, I started looking for this alternative treatment online and found several different places that offered this treatment, however, after reading Dr. Sho reviews and given the close proximity of his office location, I decided to pay a visit. Dr. Sho and his team were very friendly, welcoming and assertive and the office were very casual (doesn't feel like being in a doctor's office) with good atmosphere.
At first, they did the assessment by taking my x-ray and nerve test. There were all very thorough with what I should be expecting out of the treatment that they planned out very well for me (especially with the approach that they decided to take). I was also very impressed by their posture analysis. I worked closely with not only Dr. Sho as my Chiropractor, but I also worked with the physical therapist (for my rehab), M.D. (for any additional medication that I needed to take), massage therapist (relaxation of my muscle) and the posture-specialist (rehab for my posture). Together, they closely worked with me, to not only treat my bulging disc but also, to fix my bad posture and tense muscles that also contributed to my pain at that time. I had to take 5 weeks off of work and did my treatment 5 times a week.Slowly but gradually I improved and after 5-7 weeks of treatment, I was able to go back to my normal routine, but still going through physical therapy and rehab (3 times a week), in addition to the therapy that they told me to do home until now. Together as a team, they worked coherently well and they always assured me and gave me motivation to get better. They also welcome any feedback from me regarding the treatment, so they would know what worked out best for me (including scheduling and financing). In addition, when my mother came to town, Dr. Sho and his team communicated and explained it very well what the treatment really entailed, how I improved since I first came and gave positive assurance that I was in a good hand. Every time I had my visit at the Dr.'s office, I felt that everyone was very supportive making sure that it's not just my back that greatly improved, but they also helped me to cooping with the frustration I've been dealing with since I was diagnosed. The whole team made my treatment that was planned out for more than 8-10 weeks felt like a breeze because every time I went, the positive attitude and encouragement played a great deal to my recovery. The most important thing was that after every treatment they made sure that I would stepped out feeling better and better. Now, I can have my...
Read moreTo begin, I fell down some stairs in 2020 and from then on I was suffering excruciating pain in my lower back that shot down both my legs, left side being the worst. At first I couldn't walk without pain, then couldn't go down steps, I couldn't even turn in bed without crying out in pain. At times I couldn't even get out of bed and stand. The 5min walk from the train station to my job became increasingly more difficult taking me more time. I thought I was going to be crippled for the rest of my life.
I started missing days at work. I draw blood for a living so I'm always standing and it was getting increasingly difficult to stand long enough to draw a patient. Even sitting down became painful. I was desperate.
I began researching YouTube for exercises or stretches I could do. That's when I came across Dr Steve's ring dinger video. I saw he was local here in NYC so I googled him and saw EVERY PATIENT gave him a 5 star rating. No other chiropractor had 5 stars. So I scheduled an appt. I was very nervous, so many people were telling me not to go to a chiropractor that I could end up worse or even paralyzed.
My initial visit was nice and calm, the office was clean and relaxing. The staff were friendly, kind & reassuring. Also the music was good & there was no wait.
I met both Doctors who quickly evaluated me, and immediately asked to get on the table which was so painful. It was difficult. And all the stretching & massaging was not fun, but totally worth it. I was able to walk out normally after that first visit. He brought my pain down from a 12 on a 10 point scale to about a 7. I was at the front desk and purchased 5 more visits.
The next day I felt really sore, which I expected. But the following days I was feeling and moving better.
After my 3rd visit I was able to run down the train station steps like nothing, no pain at all.
I'm now on my 5th visit, and there is no more pain in my legs when I walk. I can walk for enjoyment again. The pain has moved up to my lower back and it's not unbearable pain like in the beginning which indicates that they're doing something right. I can turn around in bed without crying out in pain, I can walk faster and upright. I can get out of bed in the morning and not dread the day.
Dr. Steve & Dr Mike are the real deal. Everyone is different and will respond differently but if you stay with it, YOU WILL FEEL BETTER. I feel like myself again and I owe it to these guys. I am incredibly grateful to them. I definitely recommend Noho Chiropractors. They're located in lower Manhattan close to transportation near all the cool stores and stuff that you could visit once you're able to walk again. I am able to go on vacation and walk around now. Thank...
