Los Tacos No.1 is a culinary oasis that transcends the ordinary taco experience. From the moment you step in, the aroma of sizzling meats and freshly-made tortillas envelops you, creating an anticipation that's met with every flavorful bite.
The attention to detail in their tacos is extraordinary. The carne asada is perfectly grilled, tender, and bursting with smoky goodness. The carnitas are a savory symphony of crispy edges and succulent, slow-cooked perfection. Each taco is a canvas of fresh, vibrant ingredients – from the cilantro to the diced onions – creating a harmonious blend of textures and tastes.
What sets Los Tacos No.1 apart is the authenticity that permeates every aspect of the experience. The tortillas are hand-pressed, and the salsa is a flavorful revelation, striking the right balance between heat and flavor. The menu is refreshingly uncomplicated, allowing the quality of the ingredients to shine.
The bustling atmosphere adds to the allure, with the sizzle of the grill and the chatter of satisfied diners creating an atmosphere that feels like a celebration of good food. The staff, clad in their signature white and red uniforms, exude a genuine passion for their craft, providing service that complements the exceptional cuisine.

Read moreCame here from out of state and stumbled upon this place late at night while in Soho because it was still open and it seemed like a popular place since there were a lot of people. Their menu is pretty simple (there’s signs saying that flour tortilla and some other items contain pork lard). We ordered a chicken quesadilla with corn tortilla and a carne asada taco with corn tortilla. You pay at the register then they give you a ticket to give to the cooks. The cooks then make your food fresh for you and hand it on a plate. There are condiments, utensils, and extras on the side of the room. The tables are standing tables, no chairs. Each item comes in singles, ordering a taco means you get one taco, not a set of 2 or 3. When we bit into our food, we were delighted. The entire taco and quesadilla was delicious. The quesadilla looked like a taco since we ordered corn tortilla and we were confused but didn’t bring too much of a hassle. We were trying to come back to other locations since I our food was so good but we didn’t have time. We would have ordered more food and I would have wanted to try the...
Read moreFinal full day in New York City and I needed a taco fix. Found lostacosno1 nearby where the food is fresh, prepared quickly and staff are extremely friendly. If you speak Spanish, even better. Although there is often a queue, today only around a half dozen people were in front of me. Once I placed my order, I waited in a line where your food is made fresh in front of you. You’ll be asked if you want flour or corn tortilla, and then you’ll be asked if you want the free toppings: onion, cilantro, guac, salsa. I ordered a corn taco and a corn quesadilla “with the lot”. I also bought a #horchata which was soooo tasty. Can’t put my finger on what the ingredients were but don’t care. Soooo good. There is only standup benches to eat at or you can takeaway. There is a bench with serviettes, cutlery and extra toppings. Great concept and happy to know they are spread across the country. Would dine here any day of the week.
