Edit: Alejandro personally followed up with a refund. This is definitely a full satisfaction guaranteed type of place! ā- Super nice folks. However, I wonāt be coming back.
Went in with what I thought was a fairly straightforward and quick request: lightly trimming the upper sides. However, despite being told by me and another barber (seemingly to help with a language barrier), my barber cut it down quite short. By that point the height difference between upper and lower parts looked funky, so I went ahead and asked that we make the sides all one length. Again, another barber again chimed in to try to coordinate things. Again, my barber went AWOL and did an even shorter fade on the bottom of my nape than the agreed length. So what I thought would be a small trim on my upper side ended up wayyy shorter than I had wanted, which is especially a bummer because we removed a lot of dyed hair (and it is not cheap to re-dye hair).
So again, the guys were super nice and it was a welcoming, easy atmosphere for a walk-in. And I donāt want to be too harsh because my barber was brand new to NY and isnāt fluent in english. However, I left feeling absolutely un-listened to and will not return, which is too bad based on the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHands down best barber in Brooklyn! David (Daler) kills it every time. I had originally found this barbershop after I was once in a rush and fell victim to a $15 haircut in Midtown Manhattan (never again!). I was going on vacation the next day and couldnāt go out in public the way I was looking, so I quickly found the only barber that was open late enough to remedy my current situation. I walked into Thee Brooklyn Barber and met David; after a few laughs seeing the state of my hair, David somehow worked his magic and had me looking brand new in no time. After this experience, I refuse to go to any other barber in the city! David takes his time with each cut, is precise, and makes sure to get to know his customers likes and dislikes. He considers his craft a joy and his hobby rather than work, and it shows everytime. The rest of the staff is kind and welcoming as well, always good for a laugh and maybe even a little Russian language lessons....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEDIT: The quality of this barbershop has come down. They used to have a line up of experienced barbers. I just paid $50 bucks to have a rookie screw up my simple haircut. I had to go to the bathroom at my job after the cut and clean up my bangs because I had an entire layer of additional hair that was an inch longer than the rest. When you pay a premium for a haircut you expect to have certain minimums met. Once this was my go to spot, it has now become my never again spot.
I just got a cut from Christian. He is new at the shop. I gotta say it was the best cut and beard trim I've ever had. Hes got me as a customer. The quality and attention to detail was top...
