I get that the owner was doing their job, but I didn’t need him to tell “my child” to “do him a favor and put the toys back”. That comment was unnecessary and came out of nowhere. The first time was our fault, which we acknowledged and did what he told us to do, put the toys back where it belongs. The toys were put on the floor to see and compare. Again, we were wrong here. After that, we walked around the store, talked, and like regular people checking out stuff, we examined the products. Everything touched was put back where it belongs. There’s even cameras and we were very close to the register. I know the owner saw and heard me tell my child to put what they touched back. Really don’t understand why that comment came up, but I would absolutely say it to someone who is disrupting and disrespecting your store. This wasn’t the case here. I bought a Hot Wheels Car Wash set here that, from the packaging, looked like it came with tracks. When my child opened it, we realized there were no tracks inside. I went back to the store about 30 minutes later to exchange it, but the owner refused because the box had been opened.

There was no sign or notice anywhere saying they don’t accept returns on opened items, so I felt completely blindsided. The toy wasn’t damaged or played with, and it could have easily been resealed. Instead of working with me, they were inflexible and dismissive.

I love this place, have shopped for friends' kids' birthdays for years now. whoever curates their selection is pretty swift, they have cooler stuff then many much bigger toy stores. and the people are exceptionally nice, every purchase comes with gift wrapping if you want, they even gift-wrapped an item I had bought somewhere else, for free. I don't write reviews often, but I have to buy some thing for a four-year-old's birthday today, and the store doesn't open for a few minutes, I just saw, so I'm spending the few minutes...
