I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding a discrepancy in the amount of money received during my recent purchase at your store. Below are the details of the incident:
Date and time of purchase: (Specify if available)
Total purchase amount: $59.88 USD
Payment method: Cash
When making the payment, I handed over:
4 bills of $10 USD
1 bill of $20 USD
The cashier then told me that there was still money missing. Since the tax amount was not displayed on the screen, I assumed that was the issue and handed over another $20 USD bill, bringing the total cash given to $80 USD.
After receiving my change, I checked the receipt and confirmed that the total amount due was indeed $59.88 USD. I immediately informed the staff that I had handed over $80 USD, not $60 USD. Another employee then checked the cash register and claimed that only $60 USD had been received.
I requested to speak with the store manager, but I was informed that he was not available due to a family member’s passing. I also inquired about the official complaint process, but was only told that I could write a letter or file a complaint online, without being provided with a formal and clear protocol for resolving such issues.
Given this situation, I respectfully request:
A review of the security camera footage at the time of my purchase to verify the amount of money handed over.
A transparent and formal procedure for handling customer complaints and dispute resolutions at the store.
That the payment screen at checkout clearly display the net amount, tax, and total to avoid customer confusion.
I expect a prompt response and resolution to this matter. I am willing to provide any additional information required to clarify...
