Key Food Marketplace — Attraction in New York

Basically, at the end of May, I made a significant purchase at this location. However, upon returning home, I recognized an infestation of bugs within the dirty boxes I was given and bags. When I brought this to a managers attention, on 7/10/2023, after weeks of attempting to speak to someone, he told me that he did not believe me, cursed me out and hung up on me. He refused to give me his name. I have proof of calls, complaints and no one is giving me the owner’s information. To add to this, these groceries were for my mother and my six younger siblings, while she was preparing for a kidney transplant. Comments were initially made the night of my purchase, asking why I was making a size-able purchase. My mother was sick and groceries are expensive. I wanted to ensure she could peacefully recover. Absolutely unacceptable. I recognize the owner is answering comments on here and hope that he reaches out to me. I’ve been trying for months to reach him. Helpful staff, but they always close much earlier than posted hours, and in-store item price advertisements regularly do not match register prices.

This Key Food has helpful staff, and is an acceptable grocer with decent selection. On one occasion I was able to return a spoiled gallon of milk without a problem, so that os postove.

Yet they routinely close well before the posted hours, apparently at the whim of the closing staff. It has happened many times, and I am finally motivated to post a review about it - it is exceedingly frustrating to check the open/close hours, make the trip to the store, and only then find that they have closed 30 or 45 minutes before the closing time.

There has also been a repeated issue, which I just read in reviews from other reviewers, with the register prices being more, sometimes considerably more, than the hand-written advertised labels throughout the store.

If you are planning to shop here, make sure to arrive at least one hour before the posted closing time, and be certain to compare your receipt to the advertised...

Unfortunately I do need to update my review. The prices in this Key Foods location are so gauged it is insane. My wife and I can no longer shop here because they are truly just blaming "inflation" and making up their own prices. I walked down the street to rite aid to browse the limited grocery selection they have and each item compared was at the very least 3 dollars cheaper.

Times are difficult out here and this store could really use to do the right thing by the residents of this neighborhood and create reasonable prices that aren't arbitrary. There are many elderly and food insecure people out here and I'm sure whoever the CEO of Key Foods is he's making plenty of money.

Create fair prices and I'll patronize your business again. You have the right to set prices and I have the right to shop elsewhere.

Many of the staff members are friendly and knowledgeable as I said in my original review and this does not reflect on their hard work.
