Pure Puerto Rican coffee is wonderful and that’s what 787 serves. The have their own farm and roast their own beans!
I popped in at random while taking a long walk and Mya was very helpful and friendly. I sat for a while reading the owner’s unique, direct, positive and controversial coffee table book. Check it out! I won’t mention the title here for reasons that will become clear when you see the cover.
I brought my wife back later in the day and she tried both a horchata latte with whiskey flavored coffee and a tres leches latte with rum flavored coffee. Both were spectacular! Alex helped us and was also friendly and professional.
During our second visit, we shared the small sitting space with a backpack toting musician, artist and baker from Hungary! Having been to Budapest and totally enjoyed it, we struck up a conversation and ended up chatting for more than an hour! You never know what kind of caffeine fueled conversation you might have at a coffee shop but this was super interesting. Plus, we listened to his melodic techno music later that evening and enjoyed it!

Read moreThis used to be my favorite place for coffee but it’s like they’re more committed to up selling and everyone learning about their company versus just serving coffee. The amount of up selling is egregious, never mind now you can’t get a plastic cup. I go here everyday and love the staff they’re all super kind but do I need to be asked every morning if I want an empanada, chocolate chip cookie or one of their infusions? It’s always something. They were out of anything other than whole milk and charged me more for oat milk I didn’t want. All iced drinks now being served in the pouches is obnoxious. I’d assume they could use the profits from their hat sales to let us have plastic cups versus walking around with the least practical combo of an IV bag meets Vegas contraption. Somewhere along the line they forgot this is a customer oriented business and not a public art project for them. If they took a basic marketing class they could learn some skills to better market versus disrupting every...
Read moreMarcel was wonderful and a delight to speak with, she is warm and friendly really bringing her Puertorican roots to the location.
Now let’s get into the coffee. I had the coquito infused with alcohol and I was speechless as I took my first sip. It was perfection. Everything a morning coffee should be. Rich. Warm. Not overly sweet nor bitter. The hints of spices from the coquito warmed my soul in the brutal winter morning. To accompany my coffee I had the quesito and let me tell you that the pair is an experience. I recommend dunking the pastry into the coffee for the perfect bite. The quesitos and empanadas are made in house which is a plus for me. Marcel knows what she’s doing.
The location is small but has a wonderful vibe. I especially enjoyed the swings in the front. Marcel and I swung as we chitchat over coffee. If you want great coffee and friendly service this is the...
