On Tuesday June 14th after a long work day, I once again experienced an insulting, condescending and inpersonable level of treatment from a Key Food employee/cashier by the name Michael, I believe, who clearly needs training in common courtesy.
Needless to say, representatives of Key Food should understand that their level of professionalism is a direct reflection on Key Food as a whole. Coming from a decades-old background in retail, I take good customer service seriously. Anything less than is unacceptable and discourages me to patronize any and all Key Food entities, and it encourages me to dissuade others to purchase from the generous amount of Brooklyn locations.
Thank you to the Supervisor who clearly sympathized with my displeasure as he apologized for the young angry man's arrogant discourtesy. I strongly recommend training in customer service. At rising food prices, it would be helpful not to be treated in a such obnoxious manner.
Lastly, when closing a sell, the phrase, "Have a good one" cheapens your branding and does not equate to a simple "Thank you" for spending your hard earned money here when there are other grocery store options. Thanks for addressing this matter. Sincerely,...
Read moreNever felt compelled to post a review of a grocery store, but the service here has gotten so bad. The clerks at checkout consistently refuse to be helpful or polite.
There was an elderly man in front of who brought his own bag and was bagging his groceries but then had to stop to pay. Instead of helping him bag the rest of his stuff, the clerk just stood there. And instead of waiting for him to finish bagging himself she started scanning my items and pushed all his stuff to the end very rudely.
Last month, a woman in a lane over was bagging her groceries herself (because again the clerk was not helping) and she was trying to clear out fast because the clerk was just moving stuff down the line. And the woman bagging accidentally dropped something and the container popped open getting food everywhere, instead of helping her the clerk just handed her paper towels.
They should be embarrassed. I blame management for poor training and lack of enforcement of basic manners and courtesy.
I’m going back to C-Town on 25th because at least the clerks there are actually helpful and have...
Read moreKey foods pretty much has a monopoly on 5th ave below 9th st. Prices seem fixed between this place, the one across the expwy and the one on 12th. Prices are usually outrageous, like $8 for a can of Amy's soup when they're $3.50 elsewhere. Then they have deceptive sales where it'll say something like de cecco pasta 2 for $4, but only select pasta types, and they dont tell you which. So you get to the checkout and it's impossible to know if you're getting the sale price or not till they scan it. Even though this is less than 5 minutes away, I usually end up going to the Associated Fresh on 5th and Union where the prices...
