Specifically after 1996, the installation of new safety surface at Murray Playground change reality. One of just a handful of Parks and Parks facilities named for former “Parkies,” Murray Playground fills a vital role in providing for the recreational needs of the community. Basic amenities are here. In addition it's important to mention this park had a new 2010 - 2012 renovations and then progress renovations. In the 80s and 90s the front of the park was the area where all the drunks and druggies use to hang out. Not anymore those days are over. If you see pictures of this park from the 80s to now you wouldn't believe your eyes. Designed by the clueless park designers' conspiracy which never visit the parks that the design but Know Better Than You, they have decided that 80-90% of the public wants to sit in direct sun on hot summer days, which corresponds to the fraction of benches enjoying this feature. The public, because they don't know any better, persist in occupying the shady benches first, leaving the other would be users who do not understand the benefits of cooking under UV light with No Place to Sit.
This isn't the only recently redesigned park enjoying this ratio of sun-baked benches, shade trees are so 19th Century and Culturally Imperialist! Thank God for highly educated urban designers who don't use the parks that they design...
