Paintworks & Decorating — Local services in New York

Extremely happy with the level of service from Ryan and Ricky and the entire team over at Paintworks and Decorating. They both know the industry well and it is reflected in the work that they do. My wife and I have a studio apartment in Manhattan we were looking to spruce up for the 2022 spring season which included plastering and patching a few cracks on some old concrete walls left from the restoring of an old floor and removal of prior baseboards and mouldings which they also assisted with removing and rather quickly I may add. Everything came out great and we were both happy with the end result. The pricing was fair and flexible and so was the estimated time frame to complete the job. They were also very easy to work with when it came to submitting any last minute documents or certificates for the co-op approval board in my building.

I would have to say I appreciate most how responsive both Ryan and Ricky are even with all the work and projects going on they still manage to respond in a timely fashion. This is a deal breaker for me. Communication before, during, and after the job is vital. I plan to have them back again for the painting and installation of new baseboards soon so I will most likely update my review based on the outcome with photos but I am sure it will be flawless.

Good luck trying to find anything negative to say because they have certainly exceeded my expectations.

Paintworks and Decorating painted the whole interior of our 900 square foot apartment which had not been painted in about 20 years. The whole apartment--including trim, bathroom, closets, and kitchen--was in extremely bad shape, in desperate need of scraping multiple layers, plastering, priming, and painting. They started on a Thursday morning and by the next Monday afternoon, they were done. I could not believe how quickly and thoroughly they did the work and how beautiful everything looks. I was so stressed about the job being complicated or taking a long time, and they were so friendly, professional, and fast that they eliminated all of my worries. From getting the estimate from Ryan to coordinating and communicating with the skilled crew, everything went smoothly and professionally. The apartment now looks absolutely stunning and the price was extremely reasonable for the amount of labor that was required. I will definitely hire this company again if I need more...

UPDATE: Paintworks came through in the 11th hour to paint our nursery after we had new closet doors installed and that company wasn’t able to paint on a weekend as planned. I reached out on a Friday evening and they got someone here within 24 hours who did the whole job (sanding + painting) in a matter of hours. These guys are awesome - it was just in time too as our baby was born the following day! Thanks again you saved us from a ton of stress had we not finished up before our daughter’s arrival.

Easy experience start to finish for our 3 bedroom condo. All in pricing, exactly as estimated. Excellent communication. Helped guide me to pick the right finishes, and did a great job painting throughout. At our walkthrough after completion, we found a few small things to touch up which they addressed on the spot, going to far as to kindly touch up a couple of areas I hadn’t originally hired them for! Will use them again next...
