I was very disappointed by my experience at Skin Philosophy and would not go back. There was poor communication of expectations throughout the entire process, from booking to experience. I don't normally leave Google reviews, but this was truly one of my worst experiences at a business ever.
The biggest issue is that I booked a skin treatment for $100, but after the treatment, was told it was $500. Even after showing the aesthetician the proof of booking price in Vagaro, they were unable to match the price. I would advise anyone to proactively the price and expected duration of the service BEFORE the appointment as Skin Philosophy clearly experiences significant technical issues with their booking system and I would not trust it again. Even after all these issues with pricing, they still tried to upsell me on additional follow up services. I also felt that the staff did not do as great of a job at explaining and advising me throughout the process compared to other med spas I've been to. We did not discuss pros/cons of treatments despite my request to do so in the booking note, did not confirm price and level of intensity of the treatment, and did not walk through the steps of the treatment that I was about to receive. I would've expected them to bring all of these things up - I don't know what I don't know. The overall experience also felt strange - a random staff member accidentally walked in during my appointment, the person applying my facial cream was under training (getting corrections from the aesthetician) and made me feel nervous about the professional level of the treatment I received multiple confirmations of my appointment leading up to it. On the day of, I was called 1.5 hours before my appointment asking to reschedule to later. When I asked how long I could expect my appointment to take so I could plan my day, they grossly underestimated the time (the person on the phone estimated 45-60 min, but I spent 2.5 hours there) Just noting that customers receive a discount for filling out the Google review, so think critically when reading these reviews. Once there, none of the prep forms I filled out before the appointment were saved to the file so I had to re-do them Despite booking with one email, the email my appointment was associated with was switched to a different old email for no clear reason so I couldn't find my appointment in my booking history
UPDATE: Skin Philosophy called the next day and offered to match the price for me - I appreciate the outreach and quick...

š Not only all of their beauticians are licensed, one of their cofounder also got a license of beautician. My beautician was Susan. Sheās very knowledgeable and friendly. I was curious about what active ingredients they use, and she answered my questions one by one patiently. they donāt push you buying stuffs. They mentioned that customers can buy their products which only provides to salon and licensed beautician, and thatās basically all. Me and Susan even discussed about our skincare routine, and she said that the products Iām using is fine. She also recommended me ingredients that she think has good value Things that are relatively hard to do it ourselves at home are acne removal, Hydradermabrasion, steaming, LED skin phototherapy treatment, a cool-feeling blue LED device that helps soothing and absorbing and partial massage.
Things that can be improved not very easy to find, but they said theyāll put signboard soon Thereāre not much information on their official site yet, such as menu. Itāll be good to have an official website can mention what main active ingredients they use for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEdit: I'm editing my review now that its been a couple days. Unfortunately I've gotten more acne since getting the facial, which sucks, because I had mostly clear skin when I went in. I had some under the skin pimples that they extracted it seems like, but now i have a few painful pimples that simply werent there before. I did love the massage, but i also had to wash my face right after getting back home because the serums and treatments used made my eyes really watery and created a blurry and uncomfortable film. I was told i had a lot of inflammation in my skin, which wasn't visibly obvious to me, but i believe them even now, because I did have a tinge of redness on both cheeks which they identified to be inflammation, but now the scattered acne inflammation makes it look worse than it did when i went in :( (to me anyway). Im sure I'm in the minority here because the attention to detail during my facial was great.
Had a great facial at skin philosophy; they gave me advice on how to manage my combination and inflamed skin ahead of a big event coming up! Loved the facial...
