The front desk and room staff were very friendly. When I noticed that one of the three locks on my room door was broken, the front desk patiently explained to me that it was an old lock from the hotel. The hotel's front desk and housekeeping staff were happy to show me how safe it was with only two locks. I would give 0 star for the room if I could. The facilities in the room are only the most basic beds and cabinets. Everything in it was very old, and most of the things had some smudges and were dirty. I booked a non-smoking room, but when I got in, it smelled like smoke. I entered the room at 9 PM, but the toilet was still full of water stains, such as shower curtains and toilet board. The shampoo and body wash were empty, and the toilet contained only a broken bar of soap. When I slept, I felt a little itchy all the time, and I was difficult to fall asleep. Since I am allergic to dust, I woke up the next day to find that my face and all over my body have varying degrees of allergy. My eyes are especially uncomfortable, even when I leave the hotel, my eyes will still involuntarily watery. The next day around five o 'clock, there was a lot of noise from passing cars on the road outside the hotel. The air-conditioned room was a bit old and noisy, and it took me a long time to fall asleep in bed. I didn't sleep very well the whole night, and I didn't expect to be woken up by the carriage outside the next morning.

This hotel should be a lot cheaper than what the rate is. There was no fridge no microwave in the room. There was mold in the bathroom. The free breakfast consisted of white Wonderbread, coffee that tasted burnt, kids juice boxes, a few apples and yogurt. If you just need a place to sleep then this is for you. If you prefer a real hotel with all the amenities that you know a hotel is to have, then don't stay here. Parking was a nightmare even though it was free. I was blocked in my spot. The front desk person had to wake up the owner of the car so they can move it out so I can leave. Nightmare!!! Let not forget about the one play toilet paper. I got better toilet paper from the public washroom as DUMBO. Grocery bags used for the trash??? Come in with low expectations. Good luck!!!

Well pretty much in a nutshell only Google knows how much I have traveled and have stayed in many hotels and i can tell you guys it may not be high class Hilton or Marriott but I have stayed in these so-called five star locations and have noticed in all that the furniture and fixtures are outdated the bed sheets towels and pillows seem to have come from big box stores(cheap) and some complete Wings seem to have been neglected most likely because of the pure sizes of the hotels the Phoenix Hotel is a cozy not too small spot situated in a great location with plenty of diners known fast food and multi services and it doesn't compromise parking as expected from a metropolitan area they have spots underneath the building and behind. I just liked the attention to detail

Worst experience of my life I checked in to this hotel Saturday Jan,18 I called this hotel upon arrival to see if I was able to check in at 3am when had been on a bus for hours coming to New York. I asked the lady at the front since it was past midnight and 3am Saturday January 18th did we have to pay for two days she responded no that she would charge us for Jan 18-19 Saturday-to Sunday we explained we would be gone at 4am on Sunday January 19. I just needed sleep and place to stay until Sunday morning when we left. I paid $140 dollars cash she said the did not expect my card since I didn’t have a chip. The lobby smelled like cigarettes. She give us the key to our room, the room was small and not ideal but I just needed sleep and place to stay until Sunday morning. TV didn’t work floor boards were dirty the bathroom sink clogged up everytime you turned it on the tub stained and rusted when getting in the shower you should were shoes tub was rusted shower curtain was dirty they do not provide washcloth water was everywhere on the floor. We opened the window to let fresh air in the room had wired smell the window had no net screen you could literally put your whole had out the window. That morning around 10am we got up to go explore New York went to lobby area grabbed coffee and asked where was the nearest train station the lady at front replied it’s a block away. As I grab my phone and walk towards door she’s stops me and my sister asked when will we be checking out we said oh tomorrow at 4am she said no you have to check out now I was super confused we had only arrived 7hrs ago. We spoke for few trying to figure out why we had to go she said oh you paid for Friday. The argument got heated we I said we spoke to and asked you that and you said Saturday she replies she never said that told is either pay another 140 or leave I asked to speak with manager he was rude just like her we had already spent 140 to sleep I was not about to spend it again I truly upset we where not from nyc we had no where to go. I asked for partial refund she said no the manager said he could only give me 20 back off of my $140 paid. We went upstairs grabbed our bags and went to check out as I’m checking out she throws the 20 dollars at me. This the most unprofessional behavior I had ever seen I was appalled by there lack of professionalism it was a scam to get money with false advertising and over charging o would never recommend this hotel service was poor quality was poor. Not a...

So because I HAVE to rate In order to post, but No star from me!! I go to New York every two weeks for business and this was my first time at this "hotel". I made a reservation for a room prior to my trip. While I was on the phone I asked about parking and breakfast in the morning, as we all should before booking a room at ANY hotel. I was told that there would be free parking and breakfast, SO of course I made the reservation and was charged..... Once I got there, everything went downhill. First:As I was pulling into the "parking lot", there were already five parking spaces taken... leaving only one left for me. The lot was no bigger than a decent sized apartment complex swimming pool, not big at all. Second: I found out that the price they told me over the phone was nowhere near the price they actually charged me once I got there. Third: Looking around the lobby, I didn't see a table for breakfast, or a separate room, like you normally would. When I asked, They told me that I could eat at the coffee table or outside. And if that wasn't bad enough, the breakfast consisted of rolls, bread, yogurt, coffee, some fruit and mozzarella string cheese, which is not breakfast, but a snack. It all was a snack. Fourth: After I complained a little I finally went up to my room... I automatically pulled back the sheets checking for cleanliness, and to no surprise.. Hair, on both sheets AND on/under my pillows, deal breaker, EW!! I went down to the front desk and asked the clerk to look at the room, of course they gave me another one, but that one had issues as well, but being tired from my long day I went and bought cleaning supplies for the bathroom, because if it's not one thing it's the other. I do apologize for this long, detailed review, but these are things that NEED to be said when asked about your stay at a hotel. No beating around the bush, straight to the point and to warn others of what to expect, even if they just want to lay down for a few hours. (Also, I found out that this "hotel" rents rooms by the hour. 3 hours for $60. Which means I did experience a lot of in and out and traffic in the halls)Hope this...

This price seems too good to be true. It was. It advertises free parking. There was but only 6 spaces and room for 2 other cars against the building. I was early and got one but I am assuming you are out of look it you arrive later.||||I allowed extra time and still got there early. I was told there was a fee to check in early. They advertise a restaurant and free breakfast. Neither were true. She said there was no breakfast due to Covid. Ok that has been going on a good while now. DON'T ADVERTISE FREE BREAKFAST. I can deal with it not offering one. The lobby where they have it was so disgusting I wouldn't have eaten it anyway. There are all of these rules and fines. One was for taking things from there room. What was there to take? A desk WITH NO CHAIR. A wardrobe with no HANGERS. No bathmat. There was no shower curtain when I arrived but they brought one a couple hours later. The door scraped across the floor when you open it. There was some upgrades- a painted wall and a mural as well as a very nice bathroom door and new fixtures. The rest of the room was banged up. The platform bed frame looked disgusting.||||I don't know if they started a remodel and ran out of money or they haven't gotten to it yet. Lot's of signs warning against bringing visitors to your room. Most be working girls and guys staying there.||||After this I don't think I would ever even stay in Brooklyn. ...
