I wanted to share my very POSITIVE shopping experience at the R&F showroom on Jamaica Avenue, Queens, NY.
I was looking for a beautiful leather reclining sofa and loveseat set along with a six piece dining room set to compliment my open concept living/dining area. I did view many options online with other merchants but my attention was drawn to the high quality merchandise I saw online offered at very reasonable prices at R&F. But like many others, I do prefer to see what I'm buying before making a large purchase so I decided to visit this showroom.
First Impressions: Walking into the store, it is welcoming, spacious, well kept, strategically organized and overall aesthetically pleasing. The entire staff was pleasant and inviting. I soon met with a sales consultant named Mr. Guy Lafaille who would take my shopping experience from mundane and routine to EXCEPTIONAL!
The Selection Process: Mr. Guy was very polite and knowledgeable about all the products in the store and even those not currently on showroom display and was able to give detailed information not just about pricing, financing options and availability but also the trusted reputation of the manufacturers they rep, the quality of the different materials and warranty information. I was shown many different options that all appealed to me and were within my budget. With Mr. Guy's assistance, I found exactly the furniture that fit my needs to match the design concept that I had envisioned for my space that was high quality and very reasonably priced (OH HAPPY DAY!)
The purchasing and delivery: A seamless, worry-free process. My delivery was made within 2 business days of purchase. I was provided with periodic updates via email and text and knew exactly when the delivery would be made and was given tips on what to expect and how to prepare beforehand. I had the ability to track the delivery truck which arrived ON TIME. My new furniture was well wrapped and protected with packing materials and set-up was a breeze with the delivery teams very expert assembly knowledge. They set the furniture in my desired positions and was sure to remove all packing materials before they left.
The take-away: At no time did I ever feel pressured to make a purchase but somehow when I left the showroom, I walked away feeling like I wanted to buy the entire store! Like this is the kind of place I want to willingly spend my hard earned money! There should be a Mr. Guy in every Raymour & Flanigan store! He is a true professional in his class. As long as such high quality merchandise is offered, coupled with the exceptional standard of professionalism and service is maintained, I wont even bother to buy furniture anywhere else. The store manager Kashif "Kash" Khan is the perfect example of horrible customer service. He was rude, belittling, and condescending. I requested the refund and inquired why it was so challenging for them to process it the first time I asked. I had to call the store w/ a blocked number for them to pick up. When I asked why they were ignoring my calls and why could they not process the refund, he said "What would that money do for us?â Thatâs a perfect question, Kash, if thatâs the case why can no one give me my money back & provide me proof of the refund? He told me to call corporate on three-way in a very rude manner. I couldnât contact the corporate office though since I had to call the store w/ a blocked number, and corporate doesnât accept calls from blocked numbers. He eventually sent me an email which, is only legible by people who work in retail that supposedly showed proof of the void transaction. After his belligerent back and forth, he stated that if I physically came to the store I couldâve received a hard copy receipt. Why wasnât the relayed to me from the beginning when I initially requested it?? So I said ok, Iâll come to the store to get a hard copy of a legible receipt. When I arrived at the store, he stated that they canceled the voided transaction (without telling me) so I could do the refund with my credit card in the store. He gave me a tiny water bottle and some pizza serving dish as an apology for his behavior. I don't know what I'm supposed to do with that but thank you for nothing.

   Read moreMy family and I reside near this establishment. I went there to shop for furniture. We bought almost $15,000 worth of furniture. They did not specifically mention all options throughout my purchase. We asked several times, we were only told about 1 option where we only have 12 months to pay off the bill. I told them 12 months would be very difficult for us, is there any other payment plans? They said no, and we received our bill, receipt, etc. We came home, and I went online on the companyâs website. I found a 60 month payment plan option with no interest. We went again to the store and we informed the manager Shah Hossain about this information. They agreed when we asked about this 60 month option. They then changed our payment plan. We denied the protection plan, and they confirmed that they would take it off. We came home and saw they charged us for the protection plan and never took it off. We went again to the store and fixed it. Plus they charged us double for delivery. Very bad experience, lack of professionalism, very dishonest, very unhelpful salesperson, so tricky and clever. I was very upset and didnât want anymore problems in the future, so I canceled all orders. I bought the same items from another branch and I had no issues. Employees were so sharp and helpful, I was relieved. Within a half hour my order was complete in another location compared to 2 weeks of headaches and problems from this...
