Going to one of Seyun’s classes was such a lucky experience and moment in my life. I believed you were able to take a Buttercream Flower class such as this one in South Korea only. To my luck, Seyun hosts both cupcake and flower cake decorating classes in New York!! You can attend a class in a group or by yourself and mingle with other cake decorators or new comers in cake decorating! She even teaches Bean Paste Flower Cakes upon request! Personally, I decided that what would be best for my time and convince was to go to a Private Intensive Course! 🌷
I was honestly a bit nervous & intimidated at first to join the class because I truly had a hard time creating flowers let alone a rose. I even graduated from Culinary School and I still came out not really understanding how to pipe a flower. I put a hand over my heart when I tell you that Culinary School doesn’t come close to the knowledge you’ll learn with Seyun. She was welcoming, so SO kind, warm, humble, and informative. My nervousness was swept away right out the door that I walked through when she demonstrated to me on what to do! She made it so easy and it was! She took her time explaining. When I didn’t understand one way, she would explain another way. She would repeat herself until I understood what I was supposed to do. So calmly and understandingly every time. That patience is inspirational not going to lie. SHE EVEN BOUGHT ME LUNCH! Everyday that I went she surprised me with a sandwhich- a good one might I add. She was just so so pleasant to be around. Her energy calmed my anxieties with the whole worrying about, “would I be able to really learn a technique not even Culinary School was able to teach me?” And I was able to do it! 🌺
Plus at the end of the course you take home cupcakes AND a cake you designed yourself to eat it and share! And for anyone one of you reading this very long review and is wanting to order a cake for your celebration listen here. That cake and the cupcakes was unfathomably delicious. Not too sweet, so moist, and absolutely incredible. The Muscovado Vanilla has this velvety muscovado Pâte à Bombe buttercream and I can just cry thinking about how decadent it was. Oh gosh- I gotta order a cake from Seyun. It doesn’t even have to be a birthday- I’m just gonna make up a holiday just to have any cake honestly. Truly impeccable. My heart goes out for the people that never tried her cakes before because they are missing out! 🧁
To end this review off, let me say whether you are contemplating going to one of Seyun’s classes or ordering a celebration cake/wedding cake- I wouldn’t even hesitate. It’s a luxury that Seyun is serving New York with her art, talent, knowledge, and excellent culinary skills! 💕
