I went to this Sephora to do a glam makeup session with what seemed to be the only makeup artist available, a woman named Earth Angel. I typically refrain from saying names when I leave reviews but this woman really ruined my day. While she was doing my makeup I felt something didnāt seem right. I donāt know anything about makeup but Iām pretty sure you have to blend under the eyebrow. I asked her Simply, sorry, I wanted to know if this was going to be blended (Iām very soft spoken)? She abruptly stops and says no, thatās how itās meant to be. And then she proceeds to step back- call her manager and said she could no longer do my makeup, she started speaking at me like I had done something wrong. I was so confused. I literally said to her, Iām sorry I was just curious, I didnāt mean to upset or argue with you.
In that moment The lady at the front desk asked her to step away. The manager came to me and I explained what happened, and she answered my question, that yes it should be blended. And I said, thank you that was my only question, I do not understand why she was so upset. The manager went to talk to the MUA for what felt like 15min.
Thereafter, I had no idea what was going on but I felt bullied. From the people around her including the lady at the desk, to the manager who came back to tell Me that if I had any questions, I should sign up for their makeup class. But I had a simple question that did not need that response. They shut me up and down. I even felt bullied even by the senior manger who came by only to check on the makeup artist, and stood around with zero concern of me, the customer. She was just as passive. I guess she stood around to see if anything else would happen. I even apologized to the MUA because I was thoroughly confused.
Because EA was the only makeup artist available, I felt very helpless and I had a very big event to attend. She was very unprofessional and it really affected my day. My greatest concern is Iām just one woman who came for a service, what about other women. I almost cried but had no choice because she was the only MUA available.
When I got in my uber, my driver was a woman who mentioned that she had a bad experience at this same location too. I will never ever suggest this location to another woman. And really truly detested my experience here. It was my first and last MUA session at Sephora.
I even tipped her because I was being watched intensely; not because I wanted to. I wonāt ever come here again. As women, especially women of color, if you want to bully other women, let us know in advance so we can collect our money and use...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCustomer service was awful. It was my born mouth shopping tripš I went in to get my birthday giftš„³ but of course to do a bit shopping. I always look forward to this as it usually introduces a new brand/products. I also make list so that I pick up the born day gift + much needed essentials moisturizer, facial cleaner, makeup, etc. However on this visit to the Court Street Brooklyn location. There were 3-seperate missed purchasing opportunities:
Are you ready for the 411? Here we goā¦now let's be real real today, who does not love a good Sephora? I love me some Sephora because of the variety they serve, however, I love a Sephora with great customer service. The Sephora in Brooklyn on the corner of Court Street and Joralemon Avenue is the place to go if you are in the area! From the time you walked in, there are cast members waiting to say hello and thank you for coming to the store. This is one of the few Sephora that have an abundance of cast member on the stage (sales floor) ready to tend to your needs. It has been awhile since I have seen this as I am typically searching for one to help me. I was able to run into lovely Amelia who came to my aid in reading the bottom of a lipstick label for the color. She saved me from having to take a picture of the bottom of the lipstick and expanding the picture...thank you for her youthful eyes, energy and assistance! Next I had the pleasure of meeting Kyia who not only pulled me off the line to ring me up but personally hunted me down and called me when I left the store without one of my products. Now she could have totally put it back on the shelf or kept it for herself BUT she had my number and called me. This resulted in an about face back to the store to get my purchase which was nicely waiting for me behind the counter. Kyia had ensured all the right people were aware I was returning back to get. I really appreciated her honesty and being proactive. I truly value this level of service, so I am telling you now stop by and check them out...
