Qahwah Time specialty coffee — Restaurant in New York

I'm torn about writing this review cos I hate gatekeeping but I luv this place so much that I feel I need to keep it all to myself (I know it's wrong but hey, I'm being honest). I live in this neighborhood & saw this place being built (& got excited about having an authentic, non-chain/same-old franchise (no offense) cafe). I just returned from being out of town & went in for the 1st time. I'll be a regular here: the coffee was smooth (admittedly I only had the Americano, hot) & the baked good I had was 100% delish (spinach puff). The staff was just so kind & lovely: I met Azzah (I hope I spelled that correctly) who was delightful and while I didn't get everyone's name, each of them was so nice.

The cafe is beautiful; its interior design is a breath of fresh air & it's beyond clean. Qahwah Time is spacious yet intimate, modern yet comfortable, distinctive yet not ostentatious. This is the kind of cafe I visit in other countries & other cities & long for in my own beloved city—now I've got one in my backyard. It's a great place to study, read, write & speak with a friend or two (until ofc someone speaks loudly on their mobile or that person or two come in who don't know how to modulate their voices or understand they're not the only ones in the cafe, which is sadly what happened on this visit).

Waw I’m in love with this place! Everything we had was amazing! First off, this cafe has plenty of room! We tried hibiscus tea, honey cinnamon coffee, pink coconut refresher, salted caramel latte, matcha, chocolate chip cookie Yemeni style, pumpkin filled croissant, mango cake, and complimentary baklava. Everything was delicious except for the matcha which is expected from a non Japanese place. The pricing is amazing especially for the area. And I’m comparing to all Yemeni cafes and prices today in chained cafes like Dunkin. And the scenery of this place is impeccable, it gave me gulf country vibes. Must come try...

I happened to walk by and was instantly drawn in by the beautiful sign! Inside, everything is spotless, modern, and thoughtfully designed. I was truly impressed by the interior🤩 Every little detail shows how much care and creativity the owners put into it! The atmosphere feels warm, cozy, and welcoming, almost like home🥰
