***This review is for St Patrick’s Cathedral (we did not take the tour because of time but we wish we had)*** Beautiful, awe inspiring iconic NYC cathedral! We visited a few weeks before Christmas so it was crowded but still a favorite spot on our “sites to see” list. There is a security check at the door which I am thankful that they want to ensure the safety of their visitors. I would have loved to hear a choir singing here but they just had recorded selections. It was still a very moving and spiritual experience although the constant chatter of less than respectful tourists was a little distracting. It’s to be expected since it is an iconic site. For the most part, visitors kept conversations to a minimum. I’m thankful that they do allow photos to be taken because I wanted to share them with family members who love sanctuaries like this but will not likely ever visit. The architecture is truly a testament of divinely skilled craftsmanship that glorifies God. Everything here draws your eyes upward. I just wanted to soak it all in and not interfere with parishioners who came here for a very different reason. There is a private prayer chapel behind the center alter and noise as well as photos are prohibited. The nativity display was amazing and the characters were almost life sized. There are So many beautiful things to look at and reflect upon here. The sheer enormity of this structure is definitely awe inspiring. Our only regret was not being able to schedule the recommended tour.

A peaceful and awe-inspiring experience in the heart of Manhattan. St. Patrick’s Cathedral stands tall with its stunning Gothic Revival architecture—a true masterpiece that feels both grand and serene. The interiors are beautifully maintained, with intricate stained-glass windows, marble altars, and a calming spiritual ambiance despite being right across from bustling Rockefeller Center. The self-guided tour allowed plenty of time to explore at a relaxed pace. Whether you're religious or not, the cathedral’s history, beauty, and craftsmanship make it a must-visit in NYC. A moment of peace amidst the city chaos.

Cathedral was magnificent! They have an extremely small gift shop on the side. I would recommend getting a prayer card for relative. Staff at gift shop is ok. Typical New Yorkers. I taken away by how clean and pretty the Cathedral is. Even if you aren’t religious this place is sight!
