The worst experience I ever had in T.J. Maxx. I purchased a pot and a pan, and the seller asked me do you want a bag, i told him yes, two bags, he did not mention that he is gonna change me 5 cents, he charged me three times and gave me two paper bags!! He was so bad and I even talked to another worker in the store he also treated me unwell. So bad TJ Maxx staff. Update on Owner Response: I already talked to the store manager he is a black guy, and he was sharp to me!! - ( it’s just a paper bag) companies pay fortunate build a high end customer service -, that was unthoughtful response ( pay 5 cents for another bag!!). The guy who charged me extra is a white guy, 5.11 ft, and has pimples light brown in his face, he is mid 50’s. ‼️Your apologize is not enough for me, the awful experience still feels so bad in my brain and I decided will never go this store or shop in TJ Maxx, ✅ to compensate me, you should refund me this bill for what I have been charged extra WITHOUT my CONSENT🛑

multilevel TJ Maxx located on First Avenue under Queensboro Bridge. the interior is pretty well-maintained, relatively clean, and seems fairly well organized. most of the merchandise is located below street level. came here bc i need to buy a ton of athletic socks—need to replenish. there was a wall of them to choose from. a good variety of branded socks from Adidas to Nike. felt like i got a good deal on my purchase. this location is right next to Trader Joes so if you are running errands and have groceries to get—it’s a time-save. staff are friendly enough and checkout was pretty quick.

I absolutely love shopping at TJ Maxx! 🙌 It’s my go-to place for affordable fashion, home décor, kitchenware, and even beauty products. The prices are unbeatable, and the quality is surprisingly good — you can find top brands for a fraction of the cost. Whether I’m shopping for clothes (for both men and women), organizing my kitchen, or grabbing a last-minute gift, TJ Maxx always surprises me with hidden gems. It’s like a treasure hunt every time I walk in! Highly recommend for anyone who loves great deals without compromising on style or quality.

This is by far the worst T.J. Maxx in nyc. I recently went there with a friend of mine and had to make a complaint to the manager because one of their employees were racially profiling us. Even after we had bought items with receipts in our hand, this one employee comes running after my friend as we left the store and forcefully grabs him by his arm and drags him back into the store with the police officer there. I then shouted "why are you doing this?! He didn't steal anything!" As they continue accusing him of stealing a jacket he had just bought. After checking his receipt the guy gave a half ass apology and I had said "You were profiling him because of me right?!" My friend started crying after this...Whatever the reason may be for why ya'll were racially profiling us, best believe it will never justify what happened on this day. I have an alternative style. Piercings and tattoos. Just because I do, doesn't mean I'm a criminal and rebellious in nature. It's part of my culture and traditions to have the markings and piercings that I do. I'm a brown woman and my friend is hispanic and Native American. I definitely made sure to get the managers name and gave her a description of her poorly trained employee. You guys are disgusting, awful people. Please don't shop here if you have respect for yourself. I wish I could do more to bring awareness about this incident because I know leaving a review about it won't do much or stop them from targeting...

Many low rated reviews here for this location are based on facts! Will shop online from now on because my mother(senior 78 year old Asian lady)and I were followed by your security staff(African American Male)and another floor staff when we shopped at this usual location today. Blatantly following your handicapped(I use a walker)and senior women customers around for no apparent reasons is beyond racist, disgusting, pathetic, and simply idiotic. I’m glad my mother cancelled your TJ Maxx store BS credit card last year. Last time we will visit this disorganised, poorly run store. Would be better off going to that 6th Avenue & 19th-20th street older location! Last annoying note, one Indian looking woman cashier, you need to learn basic human manners & customers interactions as well. Horrendous attitude when I’ve told her my mom is better off with cancelling that store credit card last year due to budget reasons! My mom is a pensioner on fixed income and tend to overspend so less cards and finance charge the better duh! Cashier woman is quite thick in her head trying to persuade my mother to get a store credit card. Corporate office needs to be noted of this horrible TJ...

I think some of the employees here have been traumatized by really bad customers and therefore make assumptions about all customers which is wrong. I also do believe what others have stated that there may be racial profiling. This being said, some of the floor associates seem more focused on putting out merchandise than actually helping shoppers. One practically climbed over me to put items on a rack. Still the worse part was check-out. I was purchasing an item from the runway. The cashier asked me did I know about the return policy for runway. I said yes I know about the plastic red tag. She says "ok, but it is also about the tags being on the item." I said "Got it." She now proceeded to show the tags on the inside and reiterate it again. I said "I got it mam but I won't be returning it." This older caucasian woman proceeds to tell me "yeah, that's what they all say"??????????????? Really? She should not be interacting with any customers or front-facing. I am an avid TJMaxx shopper and have practically visited everyone in the city. This has got to be the worst when it comes to customer...
