I am still relaxed and on a high from my spa day yesterday at Green Spa. Like many of us my stress level has been off the charts these days and so I booked myself a series of services. Bianca was so helpful assisting me navigate their menu which is slightly different than the last time I’d been there pre pandemic. She made sure that all of my chosen services and add ons were scheduled in order of my preference and was ready to greet me when I arrived with great energy. I started with a citrus back scrub followed by a full body massage with Gina. Gina was amazing the massage I received was equal parts relaxing and therapeutic and was paced beautifully. She paid expert attention to problem areas I told her about and was the ultimate professional. Gina was so kind when I had to hop off the table mid massage (I know!) because of a cramp in my calf ( I get them all the time). I thought Id ruined my relaxed mindset but the second I got back on the table was back in a zen state in no time. Next up was a GemSkin facial and scalp massage / treatment with the incredible Rena. Bianca was there to offer me water or tea before my next service which was so thoughtful and attentive. Rena is an extraordinary esthetician and all around incredible human. Her ability to connect with her clients and restore their skin and soul simultaneously borders magic. She truly loves her clients and her work and it shows. The facial was amazing and rejuvenating, the scalp massage and treatment other worldly, and the conversation restorative for my spirit which was weary when it came. (Not to worry if you prefer to not chat during your service she checks in and you can let her know anytime) When all my services were complete and I got dressed Rena was waiting for me with a cup of their signature honey tea and I sat in their lounge area sipping and reflecting. Bianca and Rena both came to check in on me as I sat. When I left Green Spa, my hair full of frankincense, my skin glowing, my muscles relaxed and joints loose, my spirit uplifted I felt at ease for the first time in weeks, ready to take on the world. I am beyond grateful for Bianca, Gina and Rena and will be seeing...
Read moreAwful experience, but not due to the massage. The massage therapist I go to is a wonderful expert, excellent at representing the Green Spa and a complete professional. I've been a regular customer and always request the same person. Normally, it's a positive experience from beginning to end and the majority of the Spa's team is great.
However, there's some training required for the front desk regarding why people are going there & why it matters if someone is requesting the same massage therapist. They took a moment to remind me that Green Spa's policy is that they can reassign you with another therapist (despite requesting someone specific) with less than 24 hours notice and I have to accept; if I cancel because I don't want anyone else, then I will be charged. Following that, they told me customers need to cancel 48 hours in advance for weekends. Why isn't there an option for us to reschedule if the Spa can not fulfill the requested service (booked a month in advance), with the therapist we want, and simply rebook for another date? Why is it OK for the Spa to reach out under 24 hours notice and still require me to accept services that I don't want or else there's a fee?
I totally understand a therapist or the Spa itself needing to cancel and rebook me. It has happened before and I was fine canceling & rebooking for another day. I don't understand this policy that requires us to commit to services from someone we don't want when we should be offered rescheduling with the therapist originally requested. They insinuated that I should be grateful they made the original appointment work. Its unforunate there are customers who cancel last minute because that does impact a business. But dont take out what happens with them on others. I've always refrained from leaving a bad review (other hiccups have happened) because the massage therapist is truly a gem & supporting local businesses is so important. However, I left the Green Spa upset and that's not the point of going there. This happens with one particular individual. If the Green Spa is committed to a policy where you have to be rebooked with someone you don't want or face a fee, it's not the...
Read moreI received a gift card for The Green Spa and was excited to try it out. The website did not provide enough detail about the services, so I decided to go in person to ask and book. Very unfriendly and unwelcoming reception. Not interested in explaining services or booking me. Told me that since I had a gift card, I needed to call to book because I cannot use the website. Never offered to book me while I was right there. I had to suggest that and then they grudgingly booked me and took my gift card info. When I returned for the service the next week, I again encountered very unwelcoming reception. The spa does not have a welcoming lounge to wait. I was told to come early and when I did, I just had to wait on an uncomfortable seat for 10 minutes with only a glass of tea or water. The massage therapist was not welcoming or friendly at first. She warmed up later and gave a competent massage. When I returned to reception at the end of my treatment to pay the $57 balance I owed (the gift card only covered $100), the person at the desk was busy with their colleague, did not ask how I liked my visit, and did not look me in the eyes or smile. It was actually the same person who had originally booked me in person the previous week. They stated that I owed $157. When I said that the gift card should cover $100 of that, they said, "What gift card?" I said the one you entered to book me. Then, the person became defensive and said "That is a different screen" and "I am very thorough." No mention of not recognizing me (which would be fine), but not even an apology for quoting me the wrong price. Arrogant, rude, contemptuous and condescending attitude. Not interested in encouraging return business. Not a relaxing or fun experience at all. I will never return and will never recommend this...
