Manager Katrina, Supervisor JP, Floor Associates in plumbing area Paul and Frank. All four are responsible for making our shopping experience at HD very stressful and unsuccessful. Decades ago when Home Depot first opened, we were all ecstatic. Finally a huge self-serve hardware store where DIY enthusiasts could purchase items and happily work on their home projects. Over the years, I’ve gotten increasing disappointed in the lack of help from HD personnel. It seems like only tradespeople who know exactly what they are doing can quickly find what they are looking for and be on their way. But amateurs beware. The personnel just won’t help you. Today was no different, actually worse. Today I went to the HD on 3rd Ave and 59th Street in Manhattan. Some plumbing parts from under my kitchen sink were rusted so I decided to replace them. I took the old rusted parts out with a wrench, took pictures of everything, then decided to go over to HD. The parts seemed pretty simple but I need help from HD personnel. If the project seemed too complicated, I would have called for a plumber. There were no customers in the plumbing department. An HD employee named Paul was just hanging around. He was supposed to be knowledgeable about plumbing. Well, he was completely clueless or just plain unwilling to help. I politely asked him if I could review the picture I had taken and the old parts I had uninstalled. He gave me a strange and rude look, then walked me over to an aisle and pointed at a bin on the bottom shelf. The items in there were nothing like the old items I had uninstalled. Again I asked him for two minutes to get some guidance but he rudely said he was busy and I should hire a plumber. Busy? No customers were there only stock-people. I’d like to add here that I went to HD mid-morning on a weekday. HD in Manhattan does not have a lot of customers on those days/times. Yet m, almost every floor person I saw on the lower level where Plumbing and many other important departments are located m, seemed to be goofing off, not doing any work and certainly NOT helping customers. I went back to the main aisle and saw two employees chatting. Seemed like a friendly personal discussion. I waited until they paused, then politely asked for help. One of them pointed at a stock or inventory person. I went over to that person and was informed he doesn’t help customers. I went back to the main aisle and encountered an employee named Katrina. She was pleasant enough and introduce herself as a manager. She summoned a plumbing supervisor who was called JP. The manager instructed JP to help me. Instead, JP handed me over to another employee that was just hanging around there named Frank, then walked away. Frank seemed as clueless and rude as Paul. He was not helpful at all and didn’t want to see the picture I had taken or the old parts. He also said I should hire a plumber. When I politely persisted, he sold me a kit and assured me it would work. I eagerly returned home and tried the kit, but it did not work! I am a man in my mid 60s with stage IV cancer. Hence I did not want to walk back to Home Depot, which is about a couple of miles away. I decided to go to the local True Value hardware store on 2nd Ave and 44th Street. I took the Home Depot kit with me as well as the old parts. Steve from the True Value store looked at the HD kit as well as the picture & old parts and immediately told me the item I had purchased would not work. He sold me the right part for a few dollars. I returned home and easily fixed my under-sink plumbing. Everything works perfectly. I thrashed the $17 kit that Home Depot sold me and decided I would never go back. I have a ton of friends and relatives in the area. Two of them were with me this morning when we went to Home Depot. We decided to never give HD our future business and also spread the word! I and sure, as a corporation, Home Depot doesn’t value its customers. That manifests itself in bad employee behavior. We...

This is absolutely the best Home Depot (1st Ave and E 61st in NYC) my wife and I have ever visited or shopped at and no I am not a bot. This is a shout out for Gerry Thomas, the manager, and the whole staff. We have lived in five states and been Home Depot custoners for over 30 years. At other Home Depot's, the formula is simple, Home Depot has most of what you need, the prices are reasonable and finding help is very difficult if not impossible. It is a trade off most people are willing to accept, they have what I need but I am on my own. This Home Depot is a rare exception, they have what you need and they bend over backwards to help you find it. Shocker, a large big box retail conglomerate can also have a friendly and helpful staff. Over the last few months we have had over a dozen staff walk us to items we were looking for or accompany us on our search, wow! The capper though was the recent hear wave in NYC and we needed a new A/C. We found the A/C we wanted but only one problem, it was big and heavy, and even though we live 3 blocks from the store, how do we get it home? Delivery? Pay someone? Have my wife distract the staff, while I "borrow" a shopping cart? The manager, Gerry Thomas, who was standing with two other staff helping us must have read our mind and seen our mental gymnastics. Without us asking he said, he would balance the A/C in a shopping cart and accompany us home. Are you kidding me? What would that cost? He said there would be no cost. So off we walked with the HD manager and our new A/C. When we arrived at our front door, we offered Gerry a tip. My wife actually tried to hand him the money, it was the least we could do. He refused, we offered again, he refused again. Gerry said this was just normal customer service. I have to agree and disagree. For this HD this may be normal customer service but for any other big box retailer, this is not normal. This was an example of way above and beyond. A final thought, the level of customer service at this HD starts at the top and it is obvious Gerry leads by example. He has created a culture of customer service that is unique and very much...

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Home Depot on 56th Street in Manhattan, and I am delighted to share my outstanding experience. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with a warm welcome and was amazed by the exceptional service and top-notch product selection.

The knowledgeable and helpful staff at Home Depot on 56th Street went above and beyond to assist me in finding the perfect tools and materials for my home renovation project. Their expertise and attentive guidance made my shopping experience seamless and stress-free. They patiently answered my questions, offered valuable advice, and ensured I had all the necessary information to make informed decisions.

Home Depot on 56th Street exceeded my expectations with its vast range of high-quality products. The store is immaculately organized, making it easy to navigate and locate items. I was able to find everything I needed without any hassle. The shelves were consistently well-stocked, and the variety of options impressed me. The store truly caters to any home improvement need, no matter how big or small.

In addition to the exceptional service and product selection, Home Depot offers convenient services like online ordering and curbside pickup. These features are incredibly helpful, especially during these uncertain times. I greatly appreciate the store's commitment to providing a safe and efficient shopping experience.

The cleanliness and overall presentation of Home Depot on 56th Street were also commendable. The store was spotless, well-maintained, and every aisle was tidy and organized. It's evident that the management and staff take great pride in ensuring a pleasant and comfortable shopping environment.

Overall, my experience at Home Depot on 56th Street was exceptional. The exceptional service, extensive product range, and convenient services make it a truly remarkable home improvement store. I highly recommend Home Depot to anyone in need of top-quality products and outstanding customer service. Kudos to the team for their dedication and commitment...

What a wonderful shopping experience I had here ! Each & Every Employee that walked past me asked if I was finding what I needed & did so with a smile . The one that went and above beyond for me in particular was Melissa . She filled me in on the layout and made me aware that HD even has a credit card . I had no idea & good to know . She also went and asked her supervisor about something she wasn’t sure about which meant a lot to me . In addition to Melissa I really loved listening to the guy working the plants section on the afternoon of Sunday June 1st . I didn’t catch his name but he was very educated on all the plant products and I personally witnessed him going out of his to help an elderly shopper who couldn’t seem think of the name of a plant wanted . He was helping more than one person at a time and making sure they all got what they came for . The store was busy but manageable and still seemed to be running smoothly with no long lines . Attached are some pics of some accessible home products I saw while I was there . PS this is a three level store with an Elevator & Escalator so you can easily transition to the next floor . Plenty of room to navigate walkers , wheelchairs and strollers down the aisles . See you again soon Home Depot .🧡

1/6/25 I told you guys that I'd return to take more pictures and here they are I hope you like them and the Roosevelt Island tram in the background. One night I decided to go to Home Depot only to find out they moved lol. The old location had closed which was closer to the subway for me. So I hopped in a cab and hustled my butt over there, I was very surprised when I saw the new store. The store was bigger and brighter than the old location and was taller. The old location was located at street level then went down, the new location was the opposite. It too started at street level then went up. The took up every inch of that location and loaded it up with items. The staff was friendly and helpful as they are in all the Manhattan locations as usual. My only gripe is that I couldn't tell self checkout from a cashier registers. I loathe self checkout but loved the new location it even has seats in front of the store for friends to wait or impatient people lol to wait for you. I wish I had taken pics but I may go back and take pictures for you guys.

On my last visit to Home Depot located on 59th Lexington Ave, I encountered a situation that left me feeling frustrated. As I entered the store, I couldn't help but notice a lady leaving with a look of annoyance and discouragement on her face. Later, I found out the reason behind her expression. The security at the store was unusually aggressive, and the cashier's attitude was very uncooperative. When I completed my purchase, the cashier handed me the receipt without asking if I needed a bag. I requested a bag, she responded in a rude manner and made me insist on getting one. Finally, when she provided a bag, it had the Target logo on it, and I had to specifically ask for a Home Depot bag. I even tried to offer some constructive feedback about showing more self-love, and the cashier dismissed it as ridiculous. Despite this, I still believe in giving the store another chance, hoping for a better experience during my next visit.
