Real unprofessional. I called today at 1:22pm asking to make an appointment with mya confirming if she was working today. The man over the phone confirmed she was there and asked what time, I asked him if there was anything available after 5pm with Mya. I pick 5:30pm he confirms and before collecting my name and phone number I confirm again “5:30 with Mya right?” He says yes and collected my info. I get into the salon at 5:25/26 telling the young man at the desk I have an appointment for 5:30 with Mya, he says okay and comes around to sign me in. I have a seat while Mya is currently doing nails I assumed she was finishing up so I remain seated and as I’m watching the time go by it’s now 5:50pm the customer gets up and someone else goes to sit in the chair. I’m confused as I made an appointment almost 5 hours ago for 5:30pm with her it’s 5:50pm now someone else is going to be seated so I address it at the front desk and there’s absolutely no consideration! I’m told the older guy must of done the appointment and didn’t add the nail tech, he doesn’t really understand or something of that sort . So then why is he logging the appointments if he doesn’t 100% understand? And also confirmed with me when I repeated the name of the nail tech and time 3-4 times at 1:22pm when I called while I was at work? Mya comes to ask me if I can please just wait a few more mins she’ll be done in 10-15 mins it’s a fill in. I wait a few more mins, she finishes up and seats me but then goes to do the other women’s brows. Who wouldn’t be extremely upset? I expressed how inconsiderate this was to the front desk man who casually sat there unfazed with this “oh well” attitude taking no accountability or offering a solution for the mishap THEY made. People make appointments for a reason especially when they are running on a schedule and have other things to do which was my case as I called at 1PM for a 5:30pm appointment with a specific nail tech so I can get my nails done after work and pick up my newborn on time to head back home to JERSEY. This would have been my second time coming here since I enjoyed the first time coming here last month and having Mya doing a great job on my nails. After the level of inconsideration I experienced today I won’t bother returning. Coming from a manager in the customer service field myself you guys must work on your customer service, problem solving techniques and have someone who pays attention while booking to enter the correct information for appointments. This was disrespectful and...
Read moreMy nails are GORGEOUS. I got a full set (cnd gel) and gel pedicure. The salon is beautiful and there was no wait time even though I was late to my appointment. My nail tech, Anh (Anna), was so detail-oriented and so fast! She did a full set of CND gel in like 20 mins. My pedicure tech, Jenny, also did a great job cleaning up my cuticles and getting my nails straight. My nails are very thin and break a lot but she filed carefully and painted well.
All the technicians are very nice and during downtime, they like to watch each other work, which is productive. You can tell they have a great team dynamic.
However, you can tell some customers wear them down and they might be a little closed off at first. Once you treat them like a person, instead of a servicing machine, they will open up to you.
Let me tell you why reviews are mixed - when a salon has an offer as generous as they are offering ($35 full set), you're going to attract rude, cheap, and entitled people. After sitting in the salon for 3 hours, I've witnessed several people come in with someone else's work, request a fill in, and ask to test 3+ colors then change their mind after it's been painted because they're too busy talking on the phone instead of being attentive to the technician. That is YOUR fault. Also, the deal is 30% off a service such as a full set or a fill in. It does not include designs so if you want that then stop being cheap and pay for it or go somewhere else. The talent and meticulous nail art DESERVES payment and for $20? That's a better deal than most places. You won't find a full set for this price anywhere unless they're under qualified or doing nail designs on the ring finger from the 90s.
Second, yes most techs speak Vietnamese comfortably and aren't comfortable in English. That doesn't mean they're talking about you. Get over yourself. While it is an inconvenience to you, it's not that serious. They understand nail-related conversation and that's all they need to do their job. You can always show a picture or use a translation app. People who work in hair salons, nail salons, and ethnic restaurants often do not speak English as their first language. This is America, there is no official language.
With that said, definitely go there and try it out with bare nails. I'll definitely be...
Read moreI was excited to try this nail salon because I’d walked by a few times and thought it looked lovely from the outside. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing.
The pedicure was fine but extremely quick—almost too quick, in my opinion. When it came to my nails, I explained to the technician that I had acrylic on my natural nails, which needed to be soaked off, and that I wanted gel polish next. Instead of soaking off the acrylic as I requested, the technician began clipping my nails and then used a nail tip to forcibly wedge between my natural nail and the acrylic. This was painful, and I told him so, but he continued.
When he moved to another nail, he pushed the tip so hard that he broke my natural nail. Only then did he realize he needed to soak off the acrylic, as I’d initially requested. He proceeded with the removal, then shaped and painted my nails. However, he was about to paint over the broken nail as if nothing was wrong. I stopped him and asked if he was planning to fix it. He seemed confused and claimed it was fine as it was. I had to insist that he repair it, as I was concerned the nail would break further. After some pushback, he finally added a thin layer of acrylic to patch it.
The entire experience was frustrating. To make matters worse, I noticed they didn’t sanitize their tools between clients, nor did I see them disinfect anything with alcohol. The nail shape I was left with was uneven and unattractive.
For a gel pedicure and gel manicure, I paid $98—plus the added stress of a broken nail and concerns about hygiene. While the salon’s appearance may seem appealing, I would not recommend this place. They are unsanitary, inattentive to customer needs, and what should have been a relaxing visit turned into a stressful experience. Now, I’m left hoping I don’t develop an infection due to their lack of proper...
