Ashley Park — Attraction in Newnan

The scenery itself for this type of mall is spectacularly 5 starsthe shops such as Barnes & Noble, Interactive Gamestop, 5 Guys, La Hacienda, even Dillard's add unique yet comfortable, casual feel. Love that music is available at B&N+ Bestbuy (unless that's changed?) To listen privately to. The reading areas-as well as children's reading room, is a smart, friendly design, conductive to creativity, peaceful to read...coffee shop charm(reminds me of a modernized 5 star of former Oxford Books on Ptree St. in Buckhead. +A compliment!) My unnamed stores are common, uninteresting, leaves much to be desired. Especially with Beautiful fountains, sidewalks, grande architecture for a Newnan outdoor "mall". Classier than many Southside OTP malls. Yet, an overzealous rent-a-cop(Security) team, nearly arresting 2 family members 10 yrs apartfor NO real reason . 1st time 1 was told "No Bicycles allowed" , yet he walked it through to pay a phone bill. Age:30s. IMMEDIATELY banned-or be arrested??!!? FF to 2018-My then 14 y.o. straight A -never trouble in school-was rounded up with 4 other 13-14 yr old boys. "For looking dangerous to passerbys" Whattt? My son called from cop's phone begging me to be calm-just needed me to pick him up 9:30pm-ish (or told they'd be arrested for vagrancy, loitering) My son spent $20. There...as did his friends. They were all multicultural as a group. I'd hate to think that's why they looked "suspicious "? Probably just a Rich Hating Poor issue?,or - the general dislike of anyone different for all over 40s Coweta Natives. Either way this place is capable of being a money maker with some inprovements. Customer service is horrible at half the stores,restaurants, and the movie theater. And no over zealous,harrasing, threatening cop calling "security " they've turned away many big spending consumerists and created a known hostile environment of unfriendlyness. Nobody likes that. This should be for everyone. Not just Bubba& Tammy middle types. Smaller pool of people less likely to spend. Wake up before it's too late. Modernize! Welcome the youth of...

Sadly this is still a place of extreme discrimination against any that do not fit into the upper white middle-class Off and on we have gone there for a decade and nearly every time I have been followed by security yet never once cause any problems whatsoever. The profiling needs to stop before higher authorities above Coweta County get involved and put a stop to it. They need to stop judging a book by it's cover, for many times we visited with probably more cash, or debit, not over the limit credit card(see, it's not kind to stereotype!) Last straw was when my 9th grade honor roll student was visiting with friends, with money to support the businesses,yet him and 4 friends had police called on them around 8pm, a passerby reported to security a "gang fight" ..ummm every one of these kids are honor roll, never even fought in school, yet they were playing hacky sack across the street in a non-occupied section of Target parking lot , each of a different cultural background, and 90% from wealthy suburban Newnan: they were seen as a threat and police called me threatening to incarcerate if they were called back there to "Ashley Park"- this IS ACROSS THE STREET!! needless to say, it's time for this town to stop judging& follow the golden rule. Sadly i now see why many teens in this town turn to worse behaviors, underage drinking, teen pregnancy, etc...when they've nowhere to go without...

I was wore the hell out watching kids play all day and All night, but I had a marvelous time with the kids watching them wear themselves out til they drop ☔💧.
