Miss how this place used to look i went in 2009 and frequently checked in on it as I plan a visit for my honey moon later this year I understand times have changed and you have to adapt to the current times but the Lewis and Clark exhibit with the wolves is gone ? Lord of the rings to ? So is the Sasquatch and the pirate display ?? Star Wars as well ??? Those are ICONS and staples of the Oregon coast they made the wax works what it was as well as the dragon and mermaid are gone to the mermaid was turned into a playroom exhibit which yea that’s nice but why put a play place in a wax museum ?? People want to walk through and get out not have to stop and move around playing children also the beheaded explorer and the d.b cooper exhibit gone to ? ( this is what I’ve picked up from reviews and YouTube videos idk if they are still there for sure ) it’s probably going to be my last vist in a few years Newport wax works was a childhood adventure I’d beg my mom to take me and my sisters we would always prioritized the wax works then aquarium and sea lion dock it seems the magic is gone now trying to be like every museum but every museum has a American idol display and a Star Trek display get rid of it bring back the icons ! I give you 3 stars for memories but you lost 2 for taking some of the magic of Newport away and the prices hiked up ! Yikes times are tough I guess will see...

That said it is a lovely reminder of our childhood. If you were born in the 70's or 80's you remember this sort of thing being FAScinating when you were a little one. Now-a-days kids have a different set of expectations, anamatronic and laser tricks don't quite hold their attention. But there is still a place for this sort of attraction on the family road trip.
The wax figures don't look as real as you remember from your childhood but they are certainly interesting interpretations of stars past and present. Keep an eye out to spot some clever characters in scenes unexpected such as a Benjamin Franklin miner among other if you're observant.
If you buy the pass for all three venues it's not a terrible price to entertain the little ones for an hour or more. Plan to spend some money in the gift shop as two of the spaces exit right into it. The photo booth is also fun and...
Read moreI went here last year with my brothers and boyfriend. We are all adults. We used the mariner's square deal that I think groupon was running. Out of the three activities this was the best.. It was my first trip but from what I have heard it has expanded a lot over the years. The wax figures were life like. It looks like they spent a lot of time putting things together... It is a little pricy but worth the experience. It was creepy at points but in my opinion it added to the experience. To the lady who complained about her 4 year old getting scared. Maybe they should have warnings. However, wax museums are creepy! Life like figures that are fake? What part of that sounded like a great idea for...
