Update: We stayed here again last week, but this time we took advantage of their "limited edition " rooms. Wow! Perfect. Spa tub next to your bed? Why not? It's glorious. The staff are masked and the pool is indoors and open with reservations. Smart. The kitchenette has a dishwasher! Very well done. I especially enjoyed the bottle of complimentary champagne they left us chilled in the refrigerator. I didn't want to leave and we're definitely coming back. Seriously, try Georgie's restaurant. I included some pictures of our room (560) Previous review: I have frequented the Hallmark in Cannon Beach a few times. After 6 months of strictly social distancing, we were looking to get out a bit, but safely. Hallmark was excellent at safety measures that included mask requirements and contactless check in and check out. (I still wiped the room down) But we probably didn't need to.
Unlike the Cannon Beach location there's an excellent restaurant with reasonable prices for great food attached to the resort. We didn't have to go out and eat anywhere. They brought our meals to our room. Georgies is getting its own positive review.
Just like Hallmark at Cannon Beach the Customer service was exemplary! Very attentive and smart staff. Any issue you have is dealt with right away!
My only notes for this place is that the rooms need maintenance. And this may be because of COVID19. Our tub was clogged and the faucet on the tub was about to fall off. The toilet flush handle was also ready to break. The bathroom needs love. The screen sliding door fell off the track twice. And made a terrible noise. I was also very uncomfortable on the supposedly queen sized bed. The mattress is shot. The room was also super tiny. If it didn't have a cathedral ceiling it would of been clausterphobic. With all of that my stay was delightful. Ocean front room in a beautiful spot. It was the perfect getaway. We will definitely be back. The staff kept safe practices and made it possible for us to get away safely and have a wonderful time. Definitely try the restaurant. Next time we're definitely...
Read moreWe were happy to get the discounted rate keeping our cost including taxes to just over $300/night, above our budget but something we felt we could and should splurge on this one time.||||When I stayed at the Hallmark at the past, I remembered how well every aspect of our stay was. The rooms were spacious. The view was spectacular. The front desk staff was accommodating at check in and with any further inquiries we might have had.||||You know, I wish I could say that our recent stay lived up to ANY of our expectations.||||At check in, there was ONE clerk. ONE. So we waited. Eventually another clerk showed up and jumped on the calls that the ONE clerk couldn't handle while processing the guests standing before him.||||I inquired about a possible upgrade when the ONE clerk attended to us, but was told no, nothing is available. And he announced, at the discounted rate we had he couldn't give us an upgrade even if one was available.||||The $300/nt room was about one quarter the size of the rooms we expected. We had to call the front desk for a second luggage stand and were asked, "Isn't there one in the room?" Were we both supposed to use that one? The room was so small we really had a time figuring out where we could put it.||||Thank you for providing instructions for using the Keurig. There is a specific sequence of steps to get it to produce a cup of coffee.||||I wish you could have done the same for the fireplace. Since there were no instructions, we assumed, as was the case the last time we stayed, that it was non-functioning and so did not use it.||||But the crowning glory of our dashed expectations was the view. How, you might ask? Yes, there was beach and greenery. But the spectacularly commanding view, directly above the dogs doing their business area and their owners picking it up and whatever, was absolutely disgusting.||||We paid close to $1,000 for three nights stay and the entire time we overlooked a dogs doing business area?? ||||I would have added more about how...
Read moreAfter decades of stays, I think the last one was it for us. Room rates have skyrocketed, rooms haven’t been upgraded and are showing wear. Hard to get them to reserve a specific room unless you are willing to go multiple nights. Last round we had someone refuse to book a limited spa suite for a Friday, so we booked the pet loft. Got a call day before and was told we could upgrade as no one else booked it. ? Why not just give us the room we wanted as we were ready to book vs. hold it for someone better? This made the entire trip less than expected. We got charge for 2 dogs but we always only get one dog bag. In the end, our single night stay with 2 dogs and food from Georgie’s was over $700.00.
Getting that type of bill but being treated like “less than a guest” was not sitting well with us after decades of stays. I got a survey and filled it out and had the manager respond to please call.
I sat on it for sometime now because it didn’t want a “credit” to sway my thoughts. Came time to book for this holiday weekend and for the first time in decades…decades. We are staying elsewhere.
I remember staying here with my dad when I was so young, it’s sad to see this turn into a greed monster. 700.00 is steep, being treated poorly on top isn’t worth it for a room that’s falling apart. At that cost, we can stay anywhere in Oregon. Anywhere.
Seriously unfortunate, I loved this place. It’s hard to accept this type of change, the nostalgia of the past doesn’t keep up with the lack of service today and have to let it go.
You lost a life long customer trying to hedge a 2nd nights stay in a single room, I get it, turnover means$$ in service vs. 2 nights, I service = more...
