TLDR Pro Ski didnt wax their rental touring skis, causing me to get stuck on the hills. Thanks Mike for responding to my review. Personally I think he implied that we shouldnt trust the store in the first place. I have to agree he is right but i want to remind Mike that ski renters are usually inexperience in the sport and would highly value their guidance. It's a shame really , I wish I could love our local stores like everyone else here. --- I recently rented a ski touring package from Pro Ski for my AIARE class during the weekend of January 11. Overall, the rental process was smooth, and the staff took the time to show me how to use the equipment. However, I encountered a significant issue that impacted my experience. The skis I was given had not been waxed, a crucial detail that was never mentioned. On my second run of the touring day, I noticed that the skis weren’t sliding at all because thick layers of snow were bonding to the base. This issue turned what should have been an enjoyable run into a frustrating experience. Thankfully, one of the class instructors was carrying rub-on wax, but I had to put my skins back on and slide down through the fresh powder to find him—a real disappointment, especially on a bluebird day with perfect powder conditions. When I returned the equipment, I informed the staff about the problem. Unfortunately, their response was less than satisfactory. The staff member simply handed me the slip where I left credit card info on and said, "you're good to go." There was no acknowledgment of the issue or any effort to address my concerns. While I appreciated the initial service, this oversight and lack of follow-up significantly marred my experience. I hope Pro Ski takes feedback like this seriously and ensures that all their skis are properly maintained in the future. For anyone renting from them, I recommend checking the condition of the equipment thoroughly before heading out.

My 16-year-old son and I took the ice climbing class with guide David Jordan. This was our first-time ice climbing. David thoroughly went over belaying, how to use ice tools and crampons when climbing, ice screws, v-thread anchors, knots, etc. It was a great class! The pace was good so he had enough time to make sure the 4 climbers were able to get comfortable with the things he was covering. We rented some items for my son from their store (helmet, harness, boots and crampons). The equipment was in good shape. I did this as a prep for climbing the north ridge of Mt. Baker. Even if you don't have climbing plans, this is a great class just to try something new! I plan on doing some guided trips with them in the future.

My wife and I skied the Haute Route with Pro Guiding Service in April 2017 and had an all around amazing time. The tour was a once in a lifetime experience! I have been on many outdoor adventures all over the world and nothing compares to the awe I felt from being deep in the Alps; what spectacular mountains. Beyond the inherent greatness of such an amazing tour, Pro Guiding really made the trip for us by going above and beyond with their outstanding customer service. We suffered a devastating blow when our airline cancelled our flight, causing us to arrive a day later than planned. On top of that they lost our luggage, which contained our skies and technical gear for the trek. We arrived into Chamonix late at night the night before the trip was scheduled to depart with no gear. I was devastated, thinking that the trip was going to be a total loss. However, when we arrived at the hotel, Pro Guiding owner Martin Volken and our guide Rinaldo were waiting for us with two sets of rented ski gear and an awesome alternative game plan in hand. Rinaldo split from the main group and served as our private guide on the first two days of our stay, leading us on some amazing backcountry tours around Chamonix while we waited for our luggage to arrive. On the second day he drove us to the Verbier ski area, where we joined the rest of our group at the designated hut. We completed the remainder of the tour as planned and had an incredible time. Rinaldo’s knowledge, experience, professionalism and safety-centered approach to the mountains put us at ease, despite our relatively limited experience. Pro Guiding Service had no obligation to go out of its way to salvage our trip but they did so without a second thought. I give both Pro Guiding and the Haute Route my highest...

I have a pair of ski boots, but I really haven't been happy with them. They just don't fit right and I don't feel I'm skilled enough to understand why or figure out what needs to be different.

I wanted to replace them, but if was going to do that I wanted to be sure I did it at a shop that really knows what they're doing.

I've heard great things about this shop, but it's a bit out of the way for us, so we had to make a day of it. We delayed for some time but finally got the chance. Dang, I'm glad we did!

We got great help from Connor. They took a look at my existing boots, did some measurements, and had me try on some pairs to get a feel for what works best for me. It was a great experience and Connor had a wealth of knowledge.

I love the new boots! Above all else, I'm pumped to get out this coming season and use them!

They sell a ton of other gear here, too. Backpacks, hiking boots, climbing shoes and harnesses. There was even a section for running shoes, I believe. This is...
