I am not sure where to start on a review of a place that I cannot imagine NOT visiting when we are here on the Outer Banks. I have been visiting Bob and Bonnie at Wanchese Pottery since I was about 6-7yrs old (I'm in my late 30s, you can do the math...). They have always been welcoming and happy to see us. My parents have been collecting Bonnie & Bob's work for well over 20 years.. and it's become a family tradition.
Bonnie & Bob are some of the nicest and most personable people you will ever meet, and basically watched me grow up. They are so welcoming and the atmosphere of the shop is second to none.
The actual pottery creations are amazing. Sturdy, beautiful, and wide ranging. They feature numerous color patterns and dozens of types.
It's a wonderful experience, even if you're just walking through to browse and say "hello". This is a must-stop for any Outer Banks visit.. and it will be...
