Laughing Lollipop Soda And Candy Shoppe — Local services in Manteo

FANTASTIC customer service and candy! I cannot say enough about the wonderful customer service at Laughing Lollipop! I ordered a Mother's Day gift over the phone and spoke with Frieda. This had its obvious set of challenges, as I was unable to see any of the product Laughing Lollipop had to offer. I was incredibly surprised when Frieda stayed on the phone with me for over 15 minutes and gave a detailed description of the candy, answered all of my questions, and provided suggestions (at my request) for how much of each item would be a good amount to order. I was already blown away by her patience and help, but then, she went over and above when she offered to hand-deliver my gift! She drove 30+ minutes (one way) to deliver the candy that she had beautifully wrapped & sent me photos once it had been delivered. I will for sure be ordering from Laughing Lollipop in the future, and the next time I'm in the area, I will be making a stop to purchase candy and personally thank Frieda...

We made a late evening stop here while walking through Manteo. She was open while most stores were closed (post 6 PM). The owner was incredibly friendly and chatted us about the rum balls, the Tazo chocolate options and talked up other local businesses (the rum distillery). She even called the distillery to let them know we were coming since it was so close to closing time for them. This store has lots of candy choices - gummies, lollipops, salt water taffy, chocolate bars, local chocolates and so much more. It is a small, quaint shop, but a must do for candy lovers. There are lots of sweets to choose from, some basic, some nostalgic, some new age and plenty of sugar to go around. They do not offer a locals discount or military/veterans discount as the other similar places do. The ice cream choices are basic and I do not believe they are homemade. The place is very pricey and averaged of 5.25 for basic 1 scoop of ice cream and 7 for a basic milkshake nothing special (no whipcream or cherry) which is very high, definitely targeting tourists. Will not return as other shops are more comparable with pricing...
