I love Academy stores, but this location has terrible customer service and very rude employees. My second time going and last one for sure!!!! I took the time to read past review and seems like I'm not the only one that has had terrible experience at this location! I went it today per my daughters request, they wanted to buys crocs and it turn out it was the last day to get a mystery jibbitz charm with every $40 or more crocs per purchase. (It's not about the free items it's about the customer service and the terrible communication between the employees). I get to the cashier to pay and I kindly asked about the charms, she had no idea what I was talking about. She proceeded to asked Shelby in regards the charms. Shelby took a while to respond. Shelby responded with "today's the last day" no one asked about when the promotion ended. Shelby then shouts out loud yes one per customer, I kindly let the cashier know the sign says one per crocs. Another man (I believe he was an employee) shouts out loud "it's the law!!!" Okkkkkayyyyyyy! Maybe he meant to say it's store policy!!! Then Shelby shouts out again it's one per customer! So then I kindly ask the cashier is If could pay separately for each croc, the cashier then turns to Shelby to ask and turns back and again says no while rolling her eyes ! I didn't want to argue! It's not about the free items it's about the small print it clearly states it's one pero crocs as long as it's $40 or more! Also my girls were excited to read that it was one per crocs, they were expecting one for each. I have done well because as the heard all that was going on they talked to each other and said they would share the charms. AGAIN ITS NOT ABOUT THE MONEY!!! ITS ABOUT THE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND HOW SIMPLE "I'm sorry but it's only one per customer" also for Shelby ti stop what she was doing and head over to speak to me and the cashier instead of shouting out loud! Also that that man that shouted "its the law" He's disgusting!!!! It was my 3 children and I. I felt like he was trying to intimidate me, simply because of my skin color!!!
It's disrespectful towards customers for employees to communicate with each other while shouting !!!
I will no longer be going to this location, maybe not even another Academy depending on cooperates response to my...
Read moreThe reason I gave this a 2 star. I went to two stores looking for coveralls, without success, but the employees at the first store were great. It is the second store that got the two stars they were not only unwelcoming, I decided to look around to see what else I could buy, and they were watching me, mind you, I just got off work and I'm a manager. Maybe they didn't see my uniform, but regardless, I just arrived there was no reason for them to do that. Then, I asked the lady that kept going everywhere I went acting like she was doing stuff around me. I know what they were doing we do the same thing at my store, but, only if someone is acting suspect. I wasn't acting suspicious at all!! Anyways, I found shoes I liked but didn't have socks on with my shoes so I turned and asked the lady if they had socks I could borrow and she looked at me like I was crazy and rolled her eyes as she asked LP in a condescending voice, because she thought I didn't know what I was talking about, and she evidently hasn't worked there very long. She had no clue that they were on every shelf above the shoes. Even after finding out she still treated me like I was beneath her or something at least that was my perception about this whole situation. I could have perceived things wrong, but you feel the vibe, besides the fact, her body language and facial expressions said it all. I apologize if that wasn't the situation, maybe she was just having a bad day, but she shouldn't let it show in front of her customers. I just felt very unwelcomed especially knowing they were watching me like I was a criminal. LP was walking around also. I understand you have to do your job, because you never know about people, that doesn't mean you should treat people rudely. It wasn't them watching me, but it was their attitudes toward me. Like the looks, the rolling eyes, and the condescending attitude. Thank you for letting me share and for your time reading this post. On a good note I bought some really cool sketchers that were on sale and Academy had always had good quality name brand items to...
Read moreCame in looking for a specific jacket that showed to be in stock on the website in multiple colors. I get there, the section is a complete disaster (understandable to an extent considering everyone is panic shopping for the weather) It takes me two laps around the store to find an associate, I ask a young man in the shoes for help, he points me to a lady right next to him saying she’s the one working that section and if I could ask her. Clearly upset we’re interpreting her conversation, Tara tries to give me a blow off answer and points me to the section that I already came from. I insisted for more help than that, and she sighs and says “okay let me go work Bill, it was nice seeing you”. She then quickly pretends to look around as “Bill” hangs out around the corner clearly waiting to finish hanging out with Tara. Tara calls someone over the walkie talkie for help, and the girl explains she just finished helping someone else look for the same jackets and that they’re all sold out. Tara said “yeah I was off yesterday and this place is a mess, so I don’t know where anything is” the girl walks off, and Bill walks up and they continue hehe-ing and haha-ing, as I’m still there looking for an alternative. I keep looking at her and she says to Bill “oh let me look like I’m working” and picks up a shirt to fold. Taking a minute or two to catch up with a friend/boyfriend is one thing, but to disregard the fact that you’re at work and paying customers need help, and you clearly see your section is in shambles, but still decide to just hang out on the clock is beyond me. Management needs to be more involved. I did explain all of this to the lady working the customer service desk, short grey bob...
