Really disappointing experience here. On our first day here, we were shunned at by the manager, she refused to seat us because our party showed up late. We tried to accommodate by saying that we will eat separately, seeing that two family members already ate were leaving anyways. She scolded my 3 and 5 year old for walking in and greeting their dad. A customer passing by also showed us the middle finger, and they had the nerve to call the police for this matter as well. We are a muslim family and we look it, it was clear what this was about. So disappointed!

Response to the owner: with all due respect, the in-door seating was empty. We respect the policy, and We could have been seated separately as a new party and new order. The manager became hostile first In front of 4 children (there is video footage) she could have been kind but chose not to be. Having Muslim employees from an exchange program to work seasonally at cheaper rates has nothing to do with refusing to seat muslim customers and receiving them rudely. In hindsight, continuing to stay was a bad decision as it left my family and I feeling uneasy throughout the whole trip. We appreciate your apology, but the manager of the splash never apologized. Instead the manager at the Norseman profusely apologized but fault is on management at the Splash. We felt antagonized as she kept coming out back and pointing up at our room to the police officers. Two police cars arrived including a cheif car, and restaurant staff were waiting around outside, how do you think our family was feeling after such unnecessary commotion? The police officers clearly stated we were banned from the restaurant. No one can ban anyone, it is within our right to enter a restaurant in a free country.

I have been coming to Ogunquit yearly for 17 years and eat at splash constantly while vacationing. Today, I went to get take out to bring back to the beach with my girl friend. The African American woman behind the bar was incredibly rude to us, throwing down menus without saying anything when we asked for them, and giving us an overall attitude as we ordered. She then ignored people at the bar asking for drinks, and left the bar unattended for about 5 minutes, only to return to make drinks with one hand while talking on her cell phone with the other. She continued to ignore people at the bar and gave the same bad attitude to more customers and coworkers. We then had to remind her to check if our food was ready after 20 min, which it was, but it was cold and cooked wrong anyways. This place blows and the bar tender...

Unbelievably rude service. Someone in our party walked in with a beer from an outdoor location and instead of politely requesting that the drink be discarded, a staff member throws a fit and yells “havent you ever been to a restaurant before!?” and storms off. It was an honest mistake on our part that was quickly realized and corrected. Staff Never apologized. After seeing the other reviews for this establishment talking about a rude manager, I am fairly certain it was the same person that we interacted with. Ogunquit is an amazing place with amazing restaurants. This is the one and only time we have experienced anything like this while vacationing there. We will not be back to this restaurant and we will be telling our friends to avoid it as well. You are in the customer service...
