After years of coming here on special occasions, I am still recommending this food to everyone who visits Olympia! It's a small restaraunt with a warm eastern atmosphere that almost always has a fair number of people in it, but not in a crowded way. The woman who owns the place is wonderful and socializes often with the customers. I have never had trouble with the service, except for minor delays when they are very busy (but it is too worthwhile to bother me). The food is authentic, rich and flavorful, and there is quite a varied menu to choose from (with delicious tofu options on just about everything!). Right off the bat, I would recommend the honey walnut prawns or the shrimp mango salad. If you get their hot and sour soup, do yourself a favor and get it with coconut milk - even if you think you hate coconut, the resulting taste is an absolute treat! Their crispy fried tofu is an excellent appetizer, as well. If you're not looking to have a sit down meal, you will find the best spring rolls (that's the fresh kind wrapped in rice paper with the vegetables, rice noodles and tofu/prawns/meat inside, that you dip in peanut sauce) in all of Olympia here! I often snag them for...
Read moreWent to eat here and ordered... the wait staff seemed friendly but that only matters if the place gives you an inviting appetizing feeling. After we ordered I was sitting facing the wall in a booth and I noticed about 50 black dots on the wall. I decided to look closer because it wasn't anything near an architectural pattern. Upon looking closer, the dots were about 50 bugs on the wall. I decided to switch tables more near the bar area, and after relocating I was sitting next to a painting which upon closer examination, also was infratwd with bugs. I then looked at the glasses behind the bar on the shelf and they had hundreds of bugs flying on and crawling all over. Our food had just finished and been delivered and I told the server that I wouldn't be eating there anymore because of the bugs. If there are hundreds on the walls and glasses where there isn't even any open food, I can't imagine how many we aren't seeing in the kitchen being cooked into our food.... ENTER AND EAT AT...
Read moreVery disappointing, especially in terms of service. It took quite some time before our waitress asked to take our order, at which time we requested beverages and appetizers that were never asked of us. After she took our order, after some time, the food arrived and we still did not have our beverages and had to ask for them. The soda was flat and the warm tea I had hoped to keep me warm whil I waited for my food had lost it’s purpose. My boyfriend’s meal suffered heavily from the lemongrass in Lacey, the sauce was bright instead of the creamy rich sauce at the other location and significantly less meat. At no point did anyone ask us how our meal was or ask if we needed anything. After a long wait, we finally flagged down another waitress and asked for our check and a box. My curry was decent, otherwise this review would be zero stars. Definitely lacked the happy, friendly and prompt service this restaurant...
