Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls — Attraction in Orlando

Dudley Do-Right’s Ripsaw Falls is the only ride deserving the title of “greatest ride of all time” It is a perfect mix of scenery, music, animatronics, and thrills. Not to mention it soaks you a lot, which feels great on a hot day. Each scene has its own composition and the music is beautiful. Depending on the scene it can be happy, suspenseful, or full of energy. Props to the composer for making such amazing songs in such a great style. The animatronics, while primitive, are still great in their own right. They move amazingly for being so primitive, and their designs are true to the exceptional cartoon that the ride was based on. Each prop and building is done in an angular and wild style, similar to how buildings in the cartoon looks. There are many nods to jokes in the cartoon, and also parodies of other (not as good) rides throughout the course of the ride. The story of the ride is that the dastardly Snidely Whiplash has kidnapped Nell Fenwick once again, and Dudley Do-Right the incompetent but heroic Mountie is tasked with saving her, with help from the riders. Throughout the ride, riders have close encounters with falling boulders, bears, trains, waterfalls, buzz saws, and explosions. The ride climaxes with a gunfight between Dudley and Snidely, resulting in Snidely being shot out of a cannon by Nell, and setting off a chain of explosives which causes the riders to fall 75 feet into a shack full of explosives which blows up. After that, Snidely is successfully captured, and Dudley and his Horse are awarded for their bravery. This is the definitive must-do attraction for Islands of Adventure, and pretty much Orlando as a whole. Universal struck gold by making such an immersive and well done attraction. This is hands down, an excellent log ride with great animatronics. The one thing I don’t like about this ride is that, even with the Universal Express Fast Pass, the line was super long and it took me about 45 minutes to get on my log. When the ride started, the log went fast, and then slow after several drops, and then we went up this super steep incline which provided us this scenic and priceless view of the entire Universal Studios Orlando Resort, from nearly 100 feet into the sky! Fair warning: on this ride, you will get wet from head to toe!!!! An example of a humorous animatronic quote on this ride went something like this during the scenic view: “Roses are red, violets are blue, we’re all doomed, and so are you!!!” These animatronics showed the cartoon characters slowly waving their hands and moving some tools! The log moves a little faster into a blue building, which is very dark, and then it slows down, as it leaves the dark room, just like the calm before the storm!!!! Next, the best part happens: the log moves extremely fast, as it goes into a 5-second free fall (a 75-foot drop) down a super steep water slide, over the river below! As the crash-landing happens, so many gallons of water are splashed upon me and the riders, as it goes moderately fast under the pedestrian bridge, where the tourists are watching you have a grand old time! They even have an option to shoot a bunch of water at you, using the big water guns at the edge of the pedestrian footbridge!!!!! You cannot go to Universal’s Islands of Adventure and not go on this spectacular ride!! Everyone must try it for themselves!! The thrill-seekers will especially enjoy it!!!! AWESOME...

Update: My Daugher went to Universal yesterday! Sept 25th, 2023: The Dudley Doo Right ride is shut down with no water on it!! A month after my husband got banned! He got a letter saying we will Not get his pass back or the Ban lifted... I am still being charged for our Annual pass and He can not go!!!! Obviously there is a problem with the ride!!! This is so wrong!!!!

We have rode this ride so many times! It never did the malfunction that happened to my Husband and grand son! They said it was normal operation to security and police! It was Not normal function!!! We are annual pass holders! On Labor Day, my Husband and Grand kids went to Islands side to have a fun day! This ride (Dudley Doo Right Ripsaw Falls Water Ride) malfunctioned while my Husband and Grand son rode it. Husband jumped out for his safety... The other boats kept hitting them (Hard) with each boat up to 5... He wanted to Help people! That is His nature!! It was stuck while other boats were bumping them. They delayed ride and evacuated everyone in spot He got out in. They are banning him for one full year and took his annual pass which I still pay for!!! They are covering up malfunction and blaming my Husband for delay of the ride! No one is fixing this problem!! This ruined our day!! Guest Services only wants to talk through Email!!
