While we were there, we did notice some peculiar events leading to the suspicion that it may still be haunted by the past. It is an excellent place to visit for the fans of paranormal activities related to the history of the town of Oxford. I suggest going at night, by foot, to witness the events first-hand.

Dont access from behind Publix, while its a shorter walk it was definitely sketchy and didn't feel right. We went around to access it through chocoloco park and that was absolutely the way to go. Just find some parking and enjoy the scenery on your way down to the spooky bridge.

Beautiful walk and old Bridge. It was very peaceful watching the water flowing under it. My heart went out to all the lives lost there so I said a prayer for them in hopes they found the peace they needed. It's easier to get to if u park behind Publix.

I drove across this bridge my first time in 1979. It was one-lane and when you met a crowd, people would alternate one car north, one car south. Every car I owned from '79 to 2000 made a trip across this bridge. I had a Ram 2500 and that was the scariest I had to drive across the bridge. You could hear the timbers creak and the metal groan. Mrs. Collier, the lady who lived just ahead would put out a massive Christmas display and I stopped a few times and talked to her. She passed and more changes came. Kids vandalized and burned her home down. Then came Leon Smith Parkway and they closed the bridge. Oxford began to develop the park and closed off where I came to walk my dogs. I would park off of the parkway and walk it anyway. Choccolloco Park and Oxford Commons opened and ended an era, but the new park became a great place for Oxford. Driving across the bridge was a rite of passage and it was creepy because of the groans and creaking, but it was beautiful. I love Oxford Alabama. Life may change, but it lends opportunity for...

Very beutiful bridge but also very scary if walk on the bridge one has said you will see a couple that when they drove across the bridge the car fell off and they both died but only if you drive across the couple will appear inside the car and they will scare you and mske you drive off the side of the bridge. This has only happend in the dark! I strongly recommend that you make the right choices and please do not go on this bridge it is very scary & dangerous! Its has been said that if you go on the bridge but back up from the middle the couple will haunt you if you don't make it...

As teenagers we would drive to this bridge and experience the 'Hauntedness'. Such fun and lots of good memories. 😂 There have been a couple of times this bridge has made it's way onto YouTube and other social media sites. They tell of two rural legends associated with this bridge. Look them up for yourselves or better yet, find someone who actually experienced the bridge in the 80's and earlier to hear it from them. Sadly it has befallen the ravages of time and will probably be left to collapse of it's own weight into the...
