No…just no…we pulled in with a little over a hour before closing. Two cars in parking lot and two parties in the restaurant. With all the reviews you’d think it would have been busy. The sweet tea was good if you like it super sweet (which I do) and the service was great. People were super friendly. HOWEVER, the food while hot, was DISGUSTING. The Mac n cheese was yellow colored noodles with water there was ZERO cheese flavor/taste in fact you could see some of the powder cheese mix where it wasn’t stirred properly but they added WAAAAAAY too much water. So if you like water yellow noodles, this is your place. The mashed potatoes were instant and the gravy they were using you had to scoop it out of some frozen store bought salisbury steak. I think the okra and roll was the best part from the buffet. Nothing tasted like fresh baked/cooked all tasted as if it was purchased from Walmart and heated up/cooked. I guess it’s home cooking because probably 50% of American households eat this in their homes. It was a one and done for us. It was also weird to enter right into the buffet area. So the door and buffet were right next to each other. I found that to be kinda...

Seen 5 star ratings so we stopped at this location today after attending a funeral. First impressions really matter. First things first, the hostesses (4) standing at front stand chatting amongst themselves, one asked how many in our group, told them 5. One hostess proceeded to go check table for availability for my party so we started to follow the hostess but was quickly called back and said the hostess was going to check to see if a table was available or not. When the hostess returned she pointed and told us to proceed to the end row of tables and the we'll find our table to the right. Who does this? It wasn't just my group but several other groups that came in after we were seated for our meal. Unfortunately I did not get any of the hostesses name but our waitress was very courteous to us and very attentive. Several times when returning to buffet line the hostesses were standing and chatting about their weekend plans and their attire for going out. Tmi for working in a public restaurant. The meal was fine and our waitress was really good... Will not be returning to this location for dining...

I'm employed at an nearby location which I visit M&J 3x a week for veggies. Yesterday my manager came to town and I directed her to try eating at M&J. However, she experienced a bad episode with one of the servants. This is our conversation. Me: I purposely ate at M&J today and spoke to the manager, Christine (she was out yesterday), and told her about your episode from yesterday while eating lunch. My Manager: That was kind of you Lacy! I definitely don't want to go back to M & J again! Me:I really hate you had that experience. My Manager: things happen...people may have tried to go back to the bar using a one time dinner plate to feast themselves...it would have been sufficient for her to advise me that since I had a single plate by weight I wouldn't have been eligible for a return visit to the buffet....which I already knew cause I bought a single plate by the pound!! I'm not a cheater and try to scam them! Moral of this story: Be careful where you send your...

This is buffet style food. The food was good and fresh. As soon as you walk in, you can't hardly get in the door, unless people move out of the way for you. You get in a line, which is at the door, pay for your food first, at the door, and wait for your number to be called, which waiting is also right at the enter and exit doors. It is so disorganized. There should be an extended waited area. It is so confusing just getting in and out. I'm sure it's a fire hazard. The buffet is close to the door, where everyone is crowded around, so it seems to me that's not sanitary. If you are looking for chicken dressing, go to the dessert section on the back wall, why? I have no idea!

Finally a place that advertises on their sign "Home Cooking" AND DELIVERS! Everyone had been nice. I seems there is one waitress that is running around; with that said she is fantastic. We haven't had to go look for her... she's always been around to ask if we need anything. Super gal! The food, what can I say. I didn't need to salt anything except the brussel sprouts (those always need more salt...lol); everything was seasoned well. And all for... wait for it...$28, the price is right so leave a big tip! 😉 I'll leave a picture of the buffet because the meal is gone...lol. Really ya'll if you're in Oxford, AL you've gotta stop here. You won't be disappointed.

Most of the food had NO SEASONING and almost no taste... even the rolls and cornbread. 🤷🏼‍♀️ The cabbage was under cooked, and again, had no flavor. The fried Green tomatoes were good (after I squeezed them between napkins to remove some of the grease), as were the chicken livers after adding salt and pepper. My husband was very pleased with the fried chicken and the peach cobbler, and the salad was fresh.👍🏼 The waitress was very attentive to our needs. 😊
