As a Pagosa resident of 15 years, having family work at this establishment and ancestors that homesteaded this community years ago I felt disrespected and devalued. Our family is largely community based and involved and we like to spoil ourselves from time to time at the Resort.. which has obviously become more money and tourist based rather than focusing on the community and the people who make this town unique. Took my kids and brother (who was injured at work here in town) to come and heal in the waters. Normally we go to the Overlook but it’s not as kid friendly. However, my brother left his wallet at home because I offered to treat him. They refused to honor a local rate for him (but gave it to me). I suppose this might be understandable but the attitude they gave us when we politely asked to speak to a manager was inappropriate and rude. Emma and Jonas were not friendly from the beginning and became rude once we attempted to confirm our local titles. My brother went back in to try and talk to them again (politely), to which before he could begin speaking was told “we are not going to honor the local rate for you” so he left. I went back in and got their names for the sake of leaving a review which I never do. It’s just sad that what was once a friendly and welcoming establishment has honed in on corporate ideals and mannerisms and it emanates upon entering. The vibes yell “I’m here for a paycheck.” And it shows...
Read morePretty good hot spring experience! A few hiccups and some inconveniences during my visit but overall it was really fun!
There are 20-25 different hot springs pools you can choose from in all different temperatures! There were a few pools that were not available at all because they were being cleaned, but normally there are 20 pools with regular admission and 25 pools with the adult VIP package. There is an area with five pools that can only be accessed with a special key card that comes with the VIP admission price. During my time there this card reader wasn't working properly and this caused the gate to be locked until an employee with a key fob came to unlock it. That feature would have been amazing if it worked properly. I did enjoy my time in the VIP area but didn't like the unreliable entry/exit method. There are different places with food and drinks (with or without alcohol) so make sure to bring a credit card with you, they don't have tabs or a way to keep a tab open. The locker I used during my stay was demagnetized at some point and I needed help from the staff to get my belongings. I appreciate their help and was able to get my things, but it was a bit worrisome.
I will probably go again, but my expectations will be a little lower. The admission price is high, but it's not paying for a...
Read moreThe location and amount of pools were great. But there is alot of room for improvement. First thing is the cost of $67 per person literally only got me access to the pools. I assumed, baked into this cost, would be a towel and other amenities like soap in the showers. No amenities were provided. As expected, the pools are smelly since they're hotsprings. That being said, I was looking forward to a shower with soap after soaking in the rotten egg smelling pools and heading back to my campsite. I left feeling relaxed and happy but also as though I had been hustled out of my money. I came here a few years ago when the cost was $50 per person and that was more acceptable. I will be going to other hotsprings in the state from now on, which was sad because this used to be my favorite. Please fix the cost and stop ripping people off. Or at least provide some amenities for the exorbitant price you are charging for entry. You can clearly tell that your company is making a ton of money given the expansion of the Springs Resort on the riverfront (that is currently under construction) and the sheer amount of guests coming through your doors. In the very least, I hope you are paying your...
