Been here 4-5 times since July. Usually get regular carwash. The last two times I have had to empty my own trash, the windshield has not been cleaned, rubber mats have not been cleaned and the inside dash and surrounding surfaces have not been done. I paid for the managers special and today after I explained to the person what my experience was I thought I would get what I paid for, finally. I got the spray wax. The hand wash at the start was done but not completely. The person who drove the car through the wash literally zipped through and the car was not rinsed. He parked it at the exit of the wash for about 5 minutes. Another person came up opened a spray bottle, to smell the contents, sprayed the bottom portion of the car (nothing done to the top or the hood). Another person came up and they wiped the lower portion of the car and they drove it out of the wash. I made the mistake of not saying anything at that point. The person worked on the car and called my name. I got in and yet again the trash was still in the car (I told him I bagged it and it was trash). The windshield was not done. I just got in the car and decided I was not coming back. After I started driving I noticed the interior was not completed and decided to come back and let them know why I was not coming back. The manager, literally stood there and said nothing. They got their $49.00 + a $10.00 tip but they lost a customer. I just told the manager I would not be coming back so that maybe why he said nothing The Spray wax is not worth the money. It doesn't look like what they...
Read moreI brought my mom’s car in for a wash, mostly because the interior windows were dirty. We did not inspect it until we got home. With the sun shining in you could see the windshield was not even touched, at all! It was still filthy. We got out of the car and noticed all the dust and sand still in the pocket under the wipers, it had not even been through the wash. The next day my daughter took it back with the receipt and Roberto said they were closed and to come back another day and he would redo everything. We went back today, it’s been a few days, however my mom was ill so we had to wait. Roberto was not there and I explained everything to the manager on duty, I think his name was Hector. He was condescending and said he will “do it this time.” Well his attitude was not appreciated and I told him so, he was not doing me a favor, he as supposed to be fixing what was not properly done. Roberto was nice, this guy, not so much. So they supposedly re-did everything. We kind of looked at it and it was ok, until we got in the sun. I have attached pictures of what a poor job was done. The windows are a little hard to photograph but you can see the dirt. I wiped it off with my finger, so it wasn’t like it wouldn’t come off. This was the second time in a week they “washed” it. She didn’t even drive the car except home and back there between washes. Very poor job!! This is after the second time, they were supposed to fix what they didn’t do the first time!! Never again! I will...
Read moreI recently got a ride from an Uber driver who mentioned that Desert Hand Car Wash offers a $70 monthly subscription for unlimited hand washing and cleaning. That sounded like a great deal at first — but when I checked the actual service and pricing listed, there was a major disconnect.
The detailing prices were listed between $300–$400, and the location is about a 48-minute drive for me — which makes it extremely inconvenient for regular use, especially if you’re just looking for a simple clean, not full detailing.
In terms of psychology, trust and clarity matter a lot to customers. If a $70 unlimited hand wash membership exists, it should be communicated clearly and publicly, not just through word of mouth. Otherwise, it creates confusion and lowers customer confidence.
People are willing to pay for quality, but they expect honesty, time value, and clear service options — not vague or hidden deals.
I hope Desert Hand Car Wash rethinks their customer communication strategy because right now, the mismatch between expectations and reality makes it hard to recommend — especially for drivers who...
