Park City, Utah, is often marketed as a charming mountain town, but my visit was underwhelming and frustrating, to say the least. Despite its reputation, the town feels like a tourist trap that prioritizes profit over genuine hospitality.
The main street, while quaint at first glance, is overcrowded and packed with overpriced shops and restaurants. Parking is a nightmare, with limited availability and exorbitant fees that make it inconvenient and stressful. Even walking through the town was unpleasant, as it was overly crowded, and many shops felt generic, lacking the unique, local charm you’d hope to find in a mountain town.
Dining options were disappointing as well. Most restaurants are overpriced, and the food quality doesn’t justify the cost. Even worse, it seemed nearly impossible to get a reservation without booking far in advance, leaving us scrambling to find somewhere to eat.
The town’s vibe felt exclusive and unwelcoming, catering primarily to wealthy visitors. Locals and employees seemed indifferent or even annoyed by tourists, which only added to the uninviting atmosphere.
