Great gallery with amazing art & helpful staff!
Some galleries are pretentious & unwelcoming. Others are welcoming but extremely pushy in their sales tactics. From the moment Ientered Park City Fine Art, Jacob greeted me with a warm, friendly smile and conversation. We talked about the art & artists whose works were in the gallery. We had a shared appreciation for them and he seemed as interested in our conversation as making a sale (sales people at other galleries seem to only be focused on making quick sales).
Jacob recognized that purchasing something from the gallery would be a large investment. He was patient as I returned several times contemplating a potential purchase. He offerred options different than the existing frame that might make the art fit better in my home and completely understood my need to consider the purchase after I got home from my vacation and had an opportunity to decide whether I thought it would actually be a good fit for my house. There were no high pressure sales tactics used (as in "take it now or you'll lose this offer" which would have turned me away completely).
When I got home, Jacob followed up with a friendly message and was extremely patient, kind and professional as my family deliberated this big purchase. When we decided to buy the art, it was very easy to do long-distance and Jacob kept us fully informed about the timeline for packaging & delivery.
The art was very well packaged to ensure its safe delivery & Jacob followed up to make sure we were happy with the purchase.
Overall, it was a very smooth transaction and while I know the gallery profited from the sale, Jacob seemed just as happy to know that the piece ended up in a home where it is truly appreciated & loved. As an artist myself, that's how I feel when someone buys my art. Knowing a piece is going to someone who will enjoy and appreciate it is often more rewarding than the compensation itself.
If you love art, Park City Fine Art is a great gallery to visit & Jacob was a true pleasure to work with throughout the sales process. If you're an artist, he's the type of person you'd be lucky to have representing your work.
I look forward to visiting next time...
Read moreFOLLOW UP 6/25: I heard from them of course, after my review. A couple of additional issues other than my initial posting in 2023.
-I never received an invoice. When reaching out I was sent one, with an incorrect name. SERIOUSLY? -I NEVER RECEIVED A CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. WOW
I was upfront with Sam at the gallery from the start. I LOVED the piece by DeVon Stanfield, (BRAVE - WALLSTREET) and had NEVER made a major purchase such as that and needed to think about moving forward. And then came my FIRST review...
Purchased a piece of art from them after visiting Park City. I reached out to them after returning home in regards to that particular piece that I absolutely fell in love with, worked out a deal and had it shipped to me.
I spent a chunka change on that piece and guess what? I haven't heard one d@mn thing from them since.
-Did I receive it ok? -Do you like it now that you have it home? -NOT EVEN A THANK YOU for spending thousands of dollars. It may be no big deal to them, but it was to me and they were aware of it.
So, if you're ok with spending thousands of dollars on something there and could care less if you ever hear from them again, then this is your place.
Otherwise, I think you know how I feel...
Read moreWhen I walked into the Old Town Gallery, I was actually looking for photography. We were greeted by Di who showed us to the back of the gallery. As I was walking, off to the right, my eye caught a glimpse of the most beautiful painting I had seen in a very long time. It was an oil by Alexander Volkov entitled "De Profundis II" The painting captured my heart. Di told us about the painting and its relationship to Oscar Wilde and also told us about the artist. I fell in love with the painting and with the gallery. Di's historical descriptions and her knowledge of the artist were delightful--she made the painting come to life and made me feel as though I knew the artist. I am now waiting for Old Town Gallery to come to my home to hang the painting. If you have the opportunity to visit Park City, Utah, particularly if you are looking for fine art, do not leave without visiting Old Towne Gallery and meeting Di--you will be...
