Went to Home Depot today to buy some black contractor bags, and a couple black totes to store clothing in. Found the aisle quickly, bags and totes were in the same aisle, so no real searching. Grab my bags, and looking through the totes I see that the black HDX 27 gallon tough totes are significantly more cost efficient than any other ones available. They were 11 dollars, so 1 dollar for 2.5 gallons, whereas most of the other HDX tough totes were about 1 dollar to 1.3 gallons, or 1.5. I decide I want about 3- the problem is, there's only one there. A bunch of lids, but one tote. I spend some time looking on the upper shelves, don't see any other 27's, and peer out of the aisle to see if an employee is nearby. A young woman catches my eye, asks if I need help, and I explain to her my issue. She looks on the shelf as well, doesn't see the tote I was looking for either, and says she "doesn't have the right phone to look for it" and "there's probably a bunch on a pallet in the back" so she'll go grab another employee that does have this phone, and she'll be right back. No problem. I wait for several minutes. There is a threshold of time waiting before you really think about the fact that you're waiting for something- I think for me this was about ten minutes. At that point, I start wondering what happened to her, why hasn't she come back, didn't she say she was just going to get a different employee? I reason that perhaps she took the initiative to go get the totes off the pallet in the back, and pace around in the aisle. A few more minutes pass. I'm now pacing in and out of the aisle, looking back and forth for this young woman who will assuredly be coming back any moment, and catch the eye of a different employee. He asks if I need help- I tell him "yes, a woman said she would look for something for me, but-" he cuts me off, and says "Well there's your problem, she's probably looking for it, just give her a minute" and then walks away before I can respond. I resume waiting. At this point, I've been alternating between standing and pacing in this aisle for at least 20 minutes- the whole time, by the way, there has been a different employee standing around, ostensibly scanning items on HIS phone, studiously avoiding eye contact with me. I'm starting to get agitated. Finally, a third person asks me if I need something- I explain my situation, he scans the totes, says he'll be right back, and leaves. Comes back 3 or 4 minutes later, scans it a second time, walks away for another minute, and comes back to tell me that they DO have more on a pallet, but there's no drivers (?) available to actually get it OFF the pallet. I thank him for his help, grab my bags, the single tote that was there, and head to the register. At no point do I see the woman who originally said she would be right back to help me. Additionally, though it's no fault of the third person to talk to me, (who was by far the most helpful) why weren't there any drivers? Presumably he means forklift operators, and as someone who HAS a forklift operating license, they aren't hard to get. It was like an hour long course that I did at work- we had the forklift certification guy come to us. I saw more workers than customers at that Home Depot, how were NONE of them forklift certified? I digress. I walk to the registers, and right when I reach them, I get a phone call. When I turn to pull my phone out of my pocket, I see that at the front of the aisle directly in front of the registers, about 6 aisles from where I was, are all of the 27 gallon HDX tough totes. They must have moved them for a promotion. I go from excitement at the fact that I can buy 3 totes, to bewilderment, and then to anger. I drop my box of contractor bags, my single tote, and walk out. There's another Home Depot in Montville, I would suggest going there. I won't be returning...

I am writing this letter to express my sincere gratitude for the exceptional service I received at your store recently. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and friendly smile. Everywhere I stepped, I was offered help. The staff member who assisted me, Rebecca, was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. She went above and beyond to ensure that I found everything I needed and that I understood how to use the product I was going to purchase. She helped me load my Ryobi miter saw in the cart and helped me with a promotional issue I was having at checkout.
I came back to the store the next day to discuss a promotion that I couldn't get the day before with the miter saw. Again, Rebecca helped me and directed me to talk to the manager, Mel. Before I spoke to Mel, I spoke to Berlice. I was very frustrated when I first saw him, but he was incredibly patient and understanding. He took the time to listen to my concerns and to investigate the issue thoroughly.
Mel came and quickly identified the root of the problem and provided me with a clear and concise explanation of what had happened. He worked diligently to find a solution that met my needs. I was very impressed by his professionalism and his commitment to customer service. He went above and beyond to help me resolve my issue, and I am very grateful for his assistance. I am also writing to express my sincere gratitude for his help in resolving the issue I was experiencing.
Thank you again, Rebecca, Berlice, Mel, and Gisella, for all your help. I am very appreciative of your time and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe ordered a washer/dryer prior to the holidays from this Home Depot. Scheduled for 1/3/22 delivery so we had a carpenter come in and start to work on the laundry room. They cancelled our delivery and rescheduled, we were unhappy but understood and accepted the new date (had to make various schedule changes). On the delivery day, we see the driver pull up and then back out moments later. When we called we were advised it was due to a āsnow in the driveway policy,ā but were never given a chance to even come outside. We had half an inch of snow which took 5 minutes to wipe! Due to this, we were unable to finish the laundry room prior to the now 3rd delivery date. On the new delivery date, they brought the washer/dryer each with a large dent so of course we rejected it, and the delivery man documented the damage. On the 4th delivery date, washer/dryer were finally installed, but the delivery personnel would NOT take our old ones because they did not have a notice for pickup (we paid a nice lump for the pickup fee of the old washer/dryer). Called Home Depot back, they apologized and are coming this Saturday (during the currently scheduled snow storm) to pick them up. We have not ONCE been contacted with anything in return for all of these inconveniences and time/money lost. Last time purchasing any appliances or large items...
