NCG Steals from its customers then threaten to not let you see the movie when you question the issue.
Long story short- My wife and kids purchased tickets on line and opted for the more expensive seats ( an up charge for reclining seats). However, they were running late and called to see if she could get a refund. The person did not give a refund, but offered to give tickets that could be used at another date. ( All so good so far-no issues). But today, when I accompanied my wife and kids, NCG wanted to charge us again for the up-charge ( reclining seats). ( of course, I was purchasing an extra ticket for myself). My wife was able to locate the receipt that proved we had already paid the up-charge. And when I spoke with Tiffany, the Manager, she threatened that if I didnât like it I can leave. She even stated that she would not let me or my family see the movie - nor would she give a refund for the tickets that had already been processed. Not the experience I was looking for on a fun family outing.
Let me be clear, I did not raise my voice, nor was I rude. I simply wanted to have her hear my side of the story and show her the receipt. She would not let me complete a sentence, nor would she look at the receipt. Her response was to over react and treat me as if I was creating a scene. I assure you I was not. She had a dismissive attitude that was very defensive and refused to talk with me.
I reached out to âthe hot-lineâ for NCG but I never got a person. I left a voicemail but never got a returned call. Eventually, she âallowedâ me to buy a ticket and join my family. She threatened, that if my family sat in the upgraded seats that we already paid for, she would throw us out of the theater. Again, not the experience I wanted to have in front of my kids on a family fun day. We all sat in the downgrades seats, despite having paid for the upgrade.
She was rude and highly unprofessional. We wonât be going back to NCG. And we will be letting others know how we...
Read moreThis was my first time at this NCG location. They charge you more for the better seats which is already a strike. NCG use to be be a great alternative to their expensive Regal & AMC competitors. Even their concession were affordable. But not anymore. I love the cinema experience and itâs already expensive, so when they start nickel and diming you for the basics, it puts a sour taste in my mouth.
I went to see a scary movie and the screen was so dark I couldnât see anything, even in the daytime scenes.
I usually donât get up to say anything, but the staff was really nice and respectful and figured Iâd put on my brave face and ask for it to be fixed. A worker offered to check the theater, which I thought was really nice of them. They watched for a few seconds said âothers have complained of this exact scene being too dark and that it brightens up as it continuesâ. I informed them that it was like this for the trailers and the scenes leading up to this. And they said theyâd talk to someone to brighten it.
Of course I knew they werenât going to talk to anyone and was just trying to placate me. Knowing they were just repeating the stock response they tell everyone with a complaint, I thanked them and went back to my seat. To no oneâs surprise, the movie remained dark the rest of the duration.
I wouldâve much preferred them be upfront and just say âsorry itâs so dark, but it canât be fixed. Itâs presetâŚâ or something of that nature. I donât blame the worker, I presume theyâre only told to say anything to have the customer feel that their problem has been resolved.
On top of that you can hear the theaters next to you. So I was hearing music coming from both sides of the room.
My only pros are the staff were kind and helpful (besides the disregarding of my request), the seats were comfortable, and the theater was clean.
I wonât be...
Read moreGood value, but you get what you pay for. Think of it as an updated 1980's theater. Movie prices are half what they usually are, for current movies, and the food prices are probably 3/4 the usual, but you do get free refills. The candy is via a little cup, and you just fill it up at the various candy options, m&m's, swedish fish, various sours, stuff like that. The drinks are the new coke pick your flavor machines, and icee machines. Keep in mind the old theater layout, a single isle offset from the center, only a slight incline to the rows, so you will see heads in front of you. The door into the theater from the hall is direct into the seats with no buffer, so keep that in mind when you sit. Obviously, it's harder to get up for refills when the seats are so close with only the one isle. The seats do have footrests, but they are not good quality, and this is the worst part. It is a short footrest, but I'm tall and it's worse for me, and it doesn't seem to go up far enough, so your feet still hang down a bit. It's not motorized, so it's one position only. My son's didn't even have a footrest piece at all, literally the rest itself was missing from the chair, and mine simply would not extend. I expect lower quality, but I do expect to get what is advertised, so this is not acceptable in my opinion. I'd add that it was surprisingly crowded, and just like the old days you just get whatever is available, which I kind of like, but you better get there early, especially given the quality situation. All in all, I prefer to pay more and have a better environment, but considering that the food and the movie experience itself was totally fine, I think it is properly priced and is attracting a lot of viewers. Well probably only go there for movies we are less interested in, or for times we think our son might not get through it for...
