Independence Library — Attraction in Philadelphia

My issue here is the tables are disgusting! I took one look at it and knew it needed to be cleaned. I had napkins so I grabbed one and used the hand sanitizer to try and do something. The napkin was BLACK when I finished. With Covid still around and it being flu season and then making you wait outside until exactly 10am you’d think they’d be inside wiping something down. I can only imagine the keyboards and mouse. The staff may be wearing mask but the library is a 🦠germ! The library was fairly quiet. The staff at Independence Library are very helpful, gracious and friendly. They had my books on hold waiting for me at the reference desk when I called about picking them up. This branch has been a lifesaver as a place to pick up book holds while our Charles Santore branch still struggles with HVAC issues and regular closures. Independence Library has a nice sized-selection of new books and a separate reading room with a special collection of Chinese-language books and materials.
