I was really excited to check out this place since in previous years they were always booked up. I made it my reward for the day for getting all of my work done. I made a later reservation at 8:15 and later called to push it to 8:30. The lady on the phone was really sweet . The reservation on opentable clearly states that everyone has an hour and a half to enjoy their meal. No where does it state online or when I talked to her on the phone that the kitchen closes at 9. I would have canceled my reservation if I knew that and went a different day. We get to the place and they still seem nice and walk us to our table. The server greets us and I order my drink while the rest of my party looks to see what they want. During this initial greeting the server did not mention anything about the time that the kitchen closed either. I get my drink, the blood bag, and the glass that had come with it was clearly not washed well enough, was dirty from previous guests salt rim… I ask for a new cup and I am 90% sure they gave me the same exact cup with half dumped ice and just wiped the rim. There was still black salt there, like 4 tiny ice cubes and a bunch of melted ice cubes signifying it was the same glass and they didn’t even give me new ice. The drink itself was incredible! I love cocktails that are actually drinkable and this definitely was. It takes the server a long time to come back to the table to take everyone else’s drink orders… long enough that we also put in our food orders. I get the vampire burger and she asks what temperature and I say medium rare. Burger arrived and it tasted really good but the temperature was not medium rare, it was well done. Now I know it is difficult to cook a smash burger to a specific temperature, but if you do not have the ability to do that then don’t ask. The fries were horrendous. It’s like the burger was overcooked and fries were undercooked. There was no crunch or flavor. When the food arrives, she asks us if we need anything else and we say no but then when she comes back I ask for a dessert menu and she tells me that the kitchen closed at 9 and that she could check to see if they can do something and let me know… she didn’t check and instead continues to service other tables, completely ignoring us. My parents try to get her attention to ask again and she is very rude and says the kitchen is closed. I was really looking forward to getting a milkshake. If I had known that the kitchen would have closed half an hour after we arrive, including any desserts, then I would have canceled my reservation or ordered my milkshake before they closed. If the kitchen closes soon after a guest arrives then that is pertinent information to tell them at least once before it closes whether it be on the phone, when we arrived, when server greeted us, when we started ordering, or 10 min before they closed so 8:50. The only thing in her mind that probably signified her telling us was her asking if we needed anything else… that’s not good enough. You needed to tell us why and the time. It was not right what she did and it ruined my experience, not to mentioned gratuity is automatically added to the bill. I’m a bartender and I understand the importance of tipping but you don’t just give shitty service to someone. She clearly didn’t care about her service because it didn’t matter since she added gratuity anyways.
We went to the insomnia cookie lab for milkshakes afterwards. The guys there were so kind and milkshake was...
Read moreIf you’re in the mood to eat overpriced, frozen food that looks aesthetic but doesn’t actually taste good… ALL while receiving the worst service you can imagine…. Then this is definitely the place for you. My boyfriend and I checked this place out after seeing it go viral on the internet. We were SUPER excited for the milkshakes, fun burgers and holiday cocktails/decor. We made a reservation days in advance, but despite that, when we arrived there was absolutely no hostess and not a single worker even turned their eyes to us so we could get seated. We waited for around 20 minutes before someone finally brought us to our table. Once seated, we waited another 10 minutes to even have someone come bring us menus. After we ordered drinks, we waited around for about 30 minutes before our waitress realized she hadn’t even put in our drink order. After finally getting our drinks, we ordered all at once to avoid chasing down our non-existent, very rude waitress. Our food came out and my boyfriends burger was TINY (but still somehow around like $15) and my burger was so greasy the bun was completely wet and falling apart (also around like $13 something). Mind you, these meals do not come with a side… so we ordered fries to share ($6) and they were unseasoned and cold when they came out. I swear everything had to have come straight from a freezer bag. Nevertheless, we never complained and were super nice because we understood how busy they were… that is, up until the end. I had asked my waitress for a to-go box and, again, had to wait about 20 minutes to get one. When she finally brought it over, she quite literally THREW the box at my boyfriend and I all while running past us without even looking our way. I was STUNNED and incredibly upset with how aggressive she was treating us. I finally waved her down and told her to bring the check, because we were done… and yet again, she THREW the check on our table and ran past us not even making eye contact. My boyfriend and I were livid. We had been nothing but nice, since we knew they were busy but even the people around us were so aggravated with the way this waitress was treating people. The only thing we enjoyed were the cocktails… once we finally got them. And the milkshakes were fun too, but still nothing spectacular. I highly would not recommend checking this place out. Super...
Read moreThere are moments in life where genuine kindness should be celebrated and acknowledged. Yesterday, I found my way to this place and I was mentally, physically and emotionally exhausted. I was looking for somewhere to go while my husband was having a 5 hour surgery and to say I was scared was an understatement. I also had a lot of other things going on in life and I felt like was hanging by a thread at that point. No one here knew this, obviously, but that didn’t matter. I was greeted and treated with real kindness. When I sat down at bar, I was welcomed by Faith, who was so sweet and let me ramble on about my nervousness and situation. She seemed to take it upon herself to take care of me while I was there. I moved spots to be closer to an outlet to charge my phone and she checked on me so many times. Another server, Stepfanie, was also so attentive to me, genuinely concerned about my situation and kept checking on me as well. I had a lot of stuff with me and when I needed to use the restroom, Faith told me that she would watch everything for me so I could go and she did just that. I was also fortunate enough to meet Devin (I think maybe he’s a manager). I was worried about being at a table too long bc my husband was still in surgery, but he assured me that I was welcome as long as I needed. He also checked on me repeatedly and was so compassionate about my situation. I felt so welcome here and these genuine souls gave me something I didn’t think I could feel that day, and that was a sense of calmness and peace despite the internal chaos I was enduring. I’m long-winded, but I needed to express just how appreciative I was of this staff. They are good, good people. If the staff isn’t a good enough reason to visit, the food is great and the atmosphere is so cool. I came back to eat the next day bc I felt like I was going to such a comfortable spot and I was right again. I was immediately welcomed by Devin and Faith again and they took care of me like I was family. This place rocks, these people are amazing (forever in my heart) and I highly recommend. Again, in such a scary, dark time, these rays of sunshine brightened my world. Thank you so much Faith, Stepfanie...
