I purchased an engagement ring and two wedding bands through Bario Neal, and my fiancée and I could not be happier with the results. We are not local at all, so while we were driving up to Philly for a weekend trip a few months ago, we stopped by their storefront to start the process. We found the staff to be knowledgeable and helpful with just about every question we had. I had concerns about working with a jeweler so far from home and with whom I had no experience or familiarity with, but I'm glad I took the plunge.
I had an old and fairly large heirloom ring that I wanted to recycle into the new rings, and this was largely not a problem. They do have a policy that recycled metal cannot be used for jewelry with fittings, which was a bit of a bummer but I understand. They were still able to use the heirloom ring for the metal in the two wedding bands, and there was enough left over that they gave me back the stones and a large metal button. I saved myself the metal costs on two of the three rings, and I found their labor charges to be fair and reasonable.
The engagement ring was their linear diamond style, which my fiancée loves for its asymmetry. We request the diamonds in a champagne color, and while we were informed that this would add some extra time for sourcing the diamonds, it was also not a problem. The staff was extremely helpful in communicating through email, an sending pictures of candidate diamonds before they were purchased. We went through a few sets before we found a color that we were happy with, but the whole purchasing process took maybe 3 weeks. From there, it took another 6-7 weeks to make the rings, which was not an issue.
The rings were FedEx'ed with 2-day shipping, and required signature. FedEx's shipping policies were the only frustrating part of the whole exchange, but that's not something that can be pinned on Bario Neal. Overall, I am extremely happy with their service and the final products that I received. I will definitely be giving them a look for any future...
Read moreMy now-husband and I decided to get engaged back in the summer of 2017, and his mother was generous enough to give us this insane 3.2 carat princess cut diamond that she used to wear as an earring (!!). I had come across engagement rings that incorporated clustered colored gemstones and loved the look, but was unsure how I could achieve that setting with this big honking rock. We went into Bario Neal's showroom for a consultation, and within 15 minutes, the team led me to a design that incorporated apricot sapphires, morganite, and champagne diamonds of different shapes in a way that didn't try and compete with the heirloom stone, but made my ring feel like me.
There was no question that I'd go back to Bario Neal for my wedding band, and so after a long engagement, I visited the showroom at the end of 2019 with a diamond tennis bracelet my husband's grandmother gifted us (gotta love NJ Italians). I loved the Lash Linear design, but was unsure how it would fit around my engagement ring, or if it would clash. Sarah suggested I ever-so-slightly curve the band to fit with my ring, and because they still had the CAD renderings, they could make sure they'd sit together without having to keep my engagement ring on hand. Timing-wise, I cut it pretty close, but the team had my custom heirloom diamond band ready so we received it a few days before our wedding. It turned out gorgeous! I love that I can wear the band on its own, or can stack it with my engagement ring when I wanna stunt. Sarah even had fun plans for how they could replace the diamonds from the tennis bracelet with colored stones to match my engagement ring (I'm already saving up for that one). Bario Neal will be my...
Read moreOver a decade ago, my husband and I took a weekend trip to Philadelphia to visit the Bario Neal showroom. We were a little anxious because we had a tiny budget for wedding bands but knew we wanted something unique and simple and I was drawn to this woman-owned and eco-responsible business. Everyone was so kind and they encouraged us, showed us rings we hadn't even considered, and helped us choose two totally unique bands. My husband fell in love with a ring with enamel, and the designer cautioned him--gently--that it was very delicate. Sure enough, the enamel chipped eventually. Ten years later for our anniversary I found our original email correspondence with Anna and crossed my fingers that they could still repair the ring. They could, for a reasonable price, and I was able to surprise my husband with his repaired band. Everyone at Bario Neal is always so kind and helpful and patient and I'm not sure why I was worried as I hit send on that email, but thoughtful customer service is not always a given. In the years since we bought those first bands, I followed up with a simple band with gemstones to remember my grandparents and aunt. It's beautiful, simple, and along with my wedding band, something I wear...
